When you think that Grosjean can’t get any clumsier, he proves you wrong. Today he crashed before even leaving the exit from the pit lane. And he says that he and Haas laughed about it. Of desperation, I assume.

Vettel got easily into Q3... he will be safe for another few weeks...
With Lec next to Max and Vet behind max with both Ferrari on soft vs medium for the RedBull it will be an interesting first few corners.
Max will be practicing starts in the Sim tonight....

The future of F1 was clearly on display at Silverstone and I love it. Verstappen and Leclerc are going to thrill F1 fans for years to come. Lewis snatches another victory (fortuitous safety car) and is well on his way to #6! Vettel is now the 2nd best driver at Ferrari (think about that for a minute) and Gasly finally showed up!

Texted my son during those MV/CL laps, "this is like a karting race"....
Couple of shady blocking moves by Leclerc, but, oh well, oh well.
RB saying finally, gap on straight top speed shrinking.
Post race, I thought it was funny, paraphrasing Max - "well, in the incident, I lost power steering, diffuser was broken, my seat broke and was popped up and the floor was broken and I could see pieces flying off, but I'm glad to still have finished 5th" ....

How Lewis manages to set the fastest lap on 32-lap worn HARD tires is beyond comprehension! The guy is probably the best driver at managing his car and tires...epitome of a world champion! At this pace, Lewis clinches #6 by Singapore! If Vettel wasn’t under contract through 2020, I’d say he gets dropped at the end of the season. He might still pull a Rosberg and retire.

I guess that feat would be beyond comprehension if Verstappen hadn't done it 2 weeks ago....., and not while managing pace at the front with a compromised team mate in second, but ripping through the field on alternate lines fending off an attempt by a 4 time WDC to take he honor on softs.

The relatively long distance of Silverstone is why most teams (including Bottas’ Mercedes crew) calculated that a two-pit stop strategy would be the fastest for the GP. Lewis’s team gambled on a one-stop pit strategy and it worked. Actually, if you like to know, Lewis’ engineer/crew called Lewis to pit with about 7 laps to go, in order to put on a set of fresh soft tires (to go for the fastest lap) given that he had a comfortable time cushion but Lewis chose to stay out on the super worn hard tires AND still managed to set the fastest lap. Moral of the story, please get you facts straight before laughing your a** off, you may just be laughing at yourself.

Max is back to his old tricks. I'm surprised the stewards and announcers didn't see it. He moved again under braking causing his own accident. He moved inside, and then when saw Seb coming down the inside, made a slight move more to the inside. Then he he moved to the right. Technically a double move (or triple). That's why Seb bailed out of the inside move and plugged Max in the rear.
He raced LeClerc clean so don't know why he regressed to his old ways against Seb. Maybe if he gets taken out a few more times he'll learn.
