Default Laguna Seca this weekend

This Wisconsin guy is going to escape the snow season here and try out Laguna Seca this weekend (GT4 is parked in Calif for the winter). So far 10 out of 35 cars are Porsche. Any Rennlisters among them? I'll introduce myself. Should be the only Wisconsin plate in the paddock.

Have fun. That is a great track and the weather looks dry.

Don't know how much track experience you have-- hopefully enough to really enjoy the challenge of puzzle-pieces at Laguna Seca.

I first drove there in 1995 (about 4 years after moving to CA from Wisconsin) and last drove there in June of this year. My favorite experiences:

1. Racing in RR IV back in '11.
2. Riding along in a friend's 911 during Parade laps at RR VI last September. I think he was surprised with the sensation of dropping down the corkscrew, even at super low speed.

....the Wisconsin plates and the only guy walking around in shorts Have fun but be careful to avoid any off-track excursions in the hilly parts. Laguna gets some nasty gullies formed when it’s been raining a lot. You can see some (perhaps outdated) pics here.

Nice track walk pics. I was there 2 months ago for RR VI and was able to watch the line from the sidelines knowing that I planned to return. I think that the erosion and drainage channels that you saw are gone.

Yes, Weathertech has done some nice upgrades. There are several areas where they’ve paved and added extra runoff from when I took those pics 4 years ago, notably on the exit of 1 and 6, and paved inside the apex of 8a. But we’ve had a lot of rain the past couple weeks, so I expect it’s not in the same shape you saw back in October.
