you don't ski, and the bank account needs a rest, precluding transporting the Pcar to Daytona, how do you get through 4-5 months without that adrenaline rush?

Practice on offramps.
Carefully.![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Also, practice skid control in large, empty, snow-covered parking lots that don't have a lot of light standards in the way![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
And just reliving/visualizing the events with the help of all the notes I took at each one.
Like I'm doing right now as I post this![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Funny enough, the closest thing I've ever done to bobsled is push starting a shifter kart! Push that stupid thing up to a sprint speed with a race suit and helmet on, jump in and hammer it into gear... then it doesn't start so you turn it around and try again, and again, and again.
But for the OP: get in on iracing and practice there.

Learn to snowboard or downhill mountain bike. DH MTB is fine in winter as long as there is no snow down (or with snow if you are cocky or like injuries).

I sit in my trailer with a cigar and some bourbon gently stroke the hood of my car while muttering "soon".

^all of the above
plus
- rent a place for a couple months in a warmer climate
- spend more time with non-track friends
- catch up on reading
- enjoy cooking when cold out and dark early
- sporting clays/shotgun sports now that weather is cooler and insects are gone
- savor the beauty of the season
- plan 2018 track schedule, reserve hotel rooms, figure out maintenance and any mods, get ready for next season

I wish tracks stayed open and we could just still track, albeit with the right tires. Winters for cold, snow for snow, and studs for ice.
