This 24v Duratech engine can be built and tuned for higher output.
Similar engines are found in the Noble (biturbo), and Rossoin Q1(single turbo). HP numbers north of 600 are doable.
Ford is probably staying within epa/carb regulations with their showroom stock 600 bhp.

A bit off topic, as not about 2016..
But for those that love the GT (I do too), there is an extremely rare one (I think one of 10 !!) for sale :

A 2007 Ford GT Roush 600RE !!

This is right now in Geneva, at Carugati (Pagani official dealer), you can see it on the web site (French & English) at http://www.carugati.ch

I was just thinking that this extremely rare car may drive some interest here !
