The factory has a 2 year contract with a 1 year option from what I have been told.

Assuming all goes as planned expect to see 750 produced for the public but asking about a track version.

Problem is Ford does not want to support a track version and I doubt and Ford dealers are going to have or sponsor a team.

It's too bad as a Ford GT racing circuit would be F U N!

I am on two wait lists - #1 at a decent sized dealer #3 at a large dealer.

Dealers are loving their new found attention from pro athletes etc.

Ford has 3000 dealers that puts me way down on the list. Offered to buy the new limited Mustang rep said it's not going to help.

At 400k current owners may try to sell and add 150k.

It won't be comfy so hopefully that eliminates the chubsters and F1 haters.
Unfortunately another car that many of us will never see as the 250 per year number is a worldwide number. As a current FGT owner, I believe we will see our values continuing to climb as what is being seen now with the CGT after the 918 came out.

I really like the Ford 06.

But it was a very basic engine - design was good but no carbon fiber etc.

The CGT has 70 patents ceramic clutch F1 10 cylinder engine and a sound that will never be repeated and I believe Porsche reportedly spent 1M per car to produce.

The new Ford GT is built for racing by the same company that built the Aston Martin One - 77. I think this puts the new GT in a class all by itself but you are probably correct the older GT will always be in demand with the manual V8 etc.

That would be a great trifecta owning a CGT, 16M and FGT.
Curious why Ferrari wouldn't let you move to a Speciale?

Agree three of what may be the best 10 8 and 6 cylinder / transmission cars ever built.

I waited too long and Ferrari closed production earlier than dealers expected.

The other day was offered a 458Aperta order slot - 100k over list.

Be nice to know from Ford where I stand. My guess is won't make round one year two or three perhaps but that's a lifetime for car nuts.

FWIW, I was told that most of them will be bought by owners of the Ford dealerships.

The 05/06 went that way but when the hot potato got cold dealers learned selling vs holding cars is their business and that was 150k vs 400k.

Dealers need volume - management despise their salesman wasting time on the GT as it is.

There may be the initial 50k premium but that never holds long enough for the dealer to benefit at the end of the day.

400k 6 cylinders that will be in many other Fords - better be as fast as Ford claims.

This 24v Duratech engine can be built and tuned for higher output.
Similar engines are found in the Noble (biturbo), and Rossoin QR1(single turbo). HP numbers north of 600 are doable.
Ford is probably staying within epa/carb regulations with their showroom stock 600 bhp.
