Hi EZ,

I used to rotate out the cars in this garage - it's a weekend place - but over the course of the pandemic the cars in the garage have remained the same - our favorite CGT, 991R, Riv Blue 997 RS 4.0, 964 Turbo S Leichtbau, a resto mod Chalk 993 4.0, 993 RS, and a 993 GT2. Over the last few months I have been driving the 911R, the Chalk, and the 993 RS much more than the others. But on New Years' day I took out the the Leichtbau and the RS 4.0, and it dawned on me that maybe the favourite cars in this set are the ones most recently driven.

The Leichtbau I find particularly exceptional - it looks brand new, and in my many years of ownership it has been completely trouble-free. But you get into the car and the tech feels beautifully ancient as the car is specced as full lightweight - no airbags, no AC, you roll your own windows, and you immediately feel the lack of power steering. But at speed, the car is amazing - yes, there is turbo lag, but once that single turbo has spooled you get to max boost very, very quickly, and your life is in your hands. The drive that day in the Leichtbau was every bit the equal of the run in the RS 4.0.

Cheers.

Not sure which one I like more, the garage or the cars.

*Set as background
Truly exceptional! Both architecture and the cars.
Any other cars besides the Porsches?

Hi 911Vintage,

There are some other cars, the most notable drivers include a Ferrari 458 Speciale (epic, at 9K full song similar emotion as the CGT; surprisingly trouble-free except for the famous Ferrari sticky buttons), a BMW Z8 (beautiful car, seemingly no DNA connection to today's BMWs), and an AMG SLS GT (fun and almost cartoonish).

I just bought a 458 speciale actually, super excited to compare it to the CGT and the 600lt I just sold...everyone seems to love them!

Hi Carlos,

Thank you sharing! Speciale is an all time great and really love the SLS - they have all vanished from earth apparently, haven't seen any for ages.

Again, wonderful collection.

So cool to see pics of this. How often do these majors need to get done?

You haven't hung around these parts much, have you? haha (sorry couldn't resist) So much about this has been discussed.
The Carrera GT maintenance manual says Major service every 30K miles or after 4 years at the latest.
Some will swear it's not needed UNTIL it hits 30k miles.
And a lot of other people claim somewhere in the middle.
These are great decisions to have

I am doing my 2nd one after 6 years. Have heard different things from different people. The ultimate decision is on the owner.

Sorry just felt like asking the question again. I will need to have one done likely late next year (last one was Sept 2018).
