I've been lurking on rennlist for a long time, on an off over the years, usually spending social media time on Boxster-specific forums. A new-to-me BLUE beauty has triggered me to poke around again and see what's up. I've been browsing every forum, skimming lots of threads and taking a closer look at a few. Until I came to this thread. I've just carefully scrolled through 42 pages of beautiful cars, big smiles and incredible garages! The whole time had me thinking about the day when a very gracious PCA member allowed me to drive his car. It was 2005, and I remember the day like it was yesterday. Really. So for 42 pages of CGT pictures, I've been smilin and gigglin thinking about that day. Thank you all for sharing! Here's my humble contribution to the thread...a couple of personal favorites from that wonderful day.
Enzo might be my fav OTT space-ship looking car of all time. Not the 'prettiest' organic-looking shape but just damn impressive looking and still looks 'futuristic' 15+ years later.
I've always wondered what it would be like to drive an Enzo...I feel like it doesn't get the "love"...is that because it not as "great" as a LaFerrari or just lost in the shuffle so to speak
Have to say, having recently had the chance to relook over at a Enzo very closely, imo it really hasn't aged very well, especially beside the 980 which was of the same vintage. Still has an awesome engine to be fair the Ferrari though...

I always imagine it in these terms...what if the Carrera GT was released with a Tiptronic transmission. Thankfully we don't have to worry about that.
Please give us some compare/contrasts if possible. Unless it's just way too apples/oranges.
I've actually recently driven an Enzo.
Very very different from the CGT. CGT feels like an extension of yourself. To rephrase, with the CGT its as though you think it and it happens, very direct. Enzo is different, definitely not as direct, felt like less of a scalpel and more of a hammer. However in the Enzo you feel much more planted than in the CGT. Car feels much wider and lower, lighter (better turn in/preferred steering feel) and more confidence inspiring handling. The F1 tranny isn't as bad as ppl make it out to be, yes outdated, but still relatively smooth. Far less clunky than I expected for a single clutch and miles beyond what you find in early Astons/Ferraris (Vanquish, 355,360) 430 F1 is somewhat similar but Enzo still superior.
Which I prefer is very difficult. CGT is more exciting but Enzo feels more special.
^^^I can relate somewhat to differences between owning a ChallengeStrad/Scud/Speciale and similar vintage RS’s, especially with the scalpel vs hammer and extension of you as the driver vs somewhat of a passenger in a crazy but special experience. In some of the more special porsche’s I’ve owned, there are continual layers of nuance you get to know and appreciate over time; stuff you don’t necessarily even pick up the first few mos you own it. With the Ferraris, it’s more of a “punch in the face, omg, this car is insane”......the emotion needle is off-or-on and when on, it’s pegged at 12 on a scale of 1-to-10. The porsche lets you dial it up/down in 0.0001 increments but never goes to 12/10.
