Unique Compliment On CGT
Yesterday presented a beautiful Saturday afternoon, great day for a drive. CGT owners are accustomed to receiving compliments on their car - but I received one that stood out. A new Land Cruiser pulled up beside me at a traffic light - the window went down, I heard the typical comment expressing admiration for the car. But as I looked over, I immediately recognized the driver - Clyde Drexler, aka "Clyde the Glide" - multiple time NBA all star, etc., etc. Also known around town (Houston) as a very nice guy. Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool, having watched him earn a couple of NBA championships.
The unfortunate part is that Clyde might not fit in this car. These guys make enough money to buy anything on the planet, but they may only fit in SUV's.

I'm 6'4" and I do fit just fine, but barely, with the tops halves mounted. I only have about 3/4" clearance between my head and the roof panel padding.
The leg room might be tough for Clyde, too, because I'll bet he wears longer than my 35" inseams.
Invite him over for a test drive!

And, Steve!
I still haven't gotten used to the camera phones. It's kind of creepy to constantly be on Candid Camera

Yeah, those shots were taken by Dave Wendt here in Cincy. He publishes an exotic car calendar every year (and actually added a muscle car calendar for '06).
Here's the '06 one (it's also available at those mall calendar stores)- it has a photo of a silver CGT.

I think the shots of Mike's car are for the 2007 version. Below are a shot he recently did of my S4 for possible inclusion in the 2007, plus a shot he did of a Ford GT at Beechmont Ford for the 2006.

And.... here you go.
(I know these are all low-res, but obviously, they are copyrighted by Wendt Worldwide).
Most other calendars sold use stock photography, but Dave actually hunts down and shoots each car specifically for his calendar.

Paul,
You beat me to it!
Here's a shot of my old 993TT that was used in Dave's 2002 calendar:

Ryan: That was not me that you saw in the Woodlands. However, one weekend at TWS I met the owner of the car you saw - silver with the terra cotta interior. I remember this guy lived in the Woodlands.
There are quite a few CGT's in the Houston area. Attributable to current oil prices, I guess.
