The answer was NFW. PMNA will be offering very limited support and the car will probably run Pirelli Cup and or the continental series. I'm sure many will arrive at PCA events as well.
This is about protecting the 911 brand equity, general fear of the Cayman's capabilities and risk of 991 cup cannibalization, etc IMO. So you will see a GT4 subdued as far as performance and venues are concerned for the foreseeable future.
The good news is that costs will be subdued as well.

I have inquired directly about this with PMNA and the short version is that they don't want the Cayman GT4 running with the highest level of GT3 Cup racing at the same time as the 991s. I even pitched the idea of making the Cayman the new Gold car to run alongside the Platinum 991s (thereby replacing the 997 Cup) and making it certain to be slower, etc.

991 cup must be north of $4k an hr to run, I would expect this to be half that, different ball games

At the last US GT3 Cup race, there was a meeting about this. Details are far between from what I can gather it is going to be supported in the series as replacement to the 997 in 2017. They did not answer what transmission will be in the car or much in the way of specs. Porsche did say they estimate running costs to be about half that of the 991. Which I could believe if set up and suspension are limited. Stock S engine should also help.

^ Yes. And I heard $125k (Canadian) with a very limited spares package. Also heard IMSA series for Canada to supplement Gt3 Cup. Hopefully they put a manual transmission in it

With regards to the speculation of purchase and running costs they will be inline with other current FIA GT4 cars. It won't be a "Budget" racer.
I'd expect it to be 140k - 150k Euro. Support costs and consumable running costs will be very similar to a 991 Cup. The main savings will be on Engine & Transmission maintenance.
Assuming we are talking FIA spec GT4 I doubt it will be anywhere near 125k Canadian, circa 90k Euro.
Marius - Assuming a car in current European FIA GT4 spec, how much would it cost me to buy one from you ready to go?

Not what is being said here, I don't think it will be a FIA spec GT4 car. I have heard $120k-$130k which makes sense when you look at the starting price of the car $95k CDN. My guess is modifications will be simple. Only speculation here but Cage, seat, safety items, exhaust, ECU upgrade and suspension. At the factory level deleting the the original items and adding needed equipment seems to put the price point
of $125k in the ball park.
Can you clarify FIA GT4 spec?

GT4 Cup
$120-150K depending on how spec'd
Carbon Doors, DATA, & AIR JACKS are an option
991 Carrera S 3.8 Motor
PDK Trans with modified tune for race environment
991 Cup front end
991 cup brakes (PFC)
Race ABS
Most likely these will replace the older 996 cups in Pirelli Cup USA, but most likely not run against the Cups because Porsche wont like if a fast driver beats cups in a GT4, not good for the brand.
Kind of like when they put a air restrictor in the 997.2 Cups in GTC because they were faster down the straights than the RSR.
