Do you mean to say that those $100 tire certificates from JMG are not really sufficient to defray the cost of tires for a weekend?

+1 tires should be free....not a lot of support at western races from Jackson so why pay a premium?

If you're looking at Cup Car sizes then you guys might want to consider the Toyo RS1. Best priced cup car tire available. Not quite as fast as Michelin's or Pirelli's but the longevity is there as well as the price. The endurance guys are loving this tire !!!

Cool, the Toyos are really priced well and they even have the RSR size that I run.

Big time, not a lot of choices other than Pirelli or Michelin. Hopefully Yokohama releases theirs soon

I went to my first event expecting to run GTC only to find I couldn't because I didn't have Michelins on my rims, my first thought was why? Every car is set up bit different, and every driver has a different driving style and budget, why ONE tire. I'm still in a haze why it cost so much for rubber on my Cup car to begin with... I came from racing an RX 7 that could run a week end for under $600 worth of tire (s) , now I'm paying nearly that much per corner, and they don't last 4 X longer as the price would infer ??? Let's quit politicking and go racing. I wish dirt bikes had roll bars, I'd still be in the desert, way more competition and almost free, compared to auto racing!!!!!

They wouldn't let you run that class or on track? What class did they put you in?

I run 4 races per year, maybe 5 schedule permitting. My goal is just to race with other cars. Sure, it's nice if I can get on the podium, but if I can achieve my goal with another make of tire for $1,000/weekend less, that is what I will do. Tires should be free, let skill make up the difference.
