Adam is 217 in the black cup motorsport axles as well? Or what is in them?

Beware, krytox is highly toxic and VERY expensive (in the hundreds of dollars for a tube). The NEO CV grease is quite good, much cheaper, and not toxic.

Adam, I changed over the grease that came with a black axle from you, to Krytox. After 20 hrs, that grease was shot! It was the consistency of syrup. I switched to the GPL 215

Is the 215 ok for axle use?

I originally wanted to take them apart periodically and repack. But, since the outer ends can't be disassembled, and Krytox is not soluble, I've just added grease to them.

You can disassemble the outers. You can cut off the crimp in a lathe, or carefully pry the crimp up. Then you have to drill and tap the outer CV with a few small screws to keep the cover from coming off after you remove the crimp.

215 is marginally adequate for Cup cars (with consistent maintenance), as long as you don't run tracks that are excessively fast or have the car very low. I believe 215 is what comes in the black cup axles. If you plan to go to Daytona, definitely use 217.
I expect you will be fine with adding grease to the outer joint, as I expect you do not have the proper tools (as described) to disassemble the outers.

OMG ... so technical just for a CV joint grease. I found 0.5 KG Krytox grease 215 tub on Amazon for $256. Maybe I can use it to get rid of wrinkles on my face

We can also supply the 215 or 217 at marginally better pricing than above if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Will take my Cup to TRG next week to get the CV boot fixed. Wonder if this is an easy DIY. TRG quoted 1.5 hours of labor. Should be just loosen the 6 bolts, unclamp the boot and slide it out along with CV joint then repack with the toxic Krytox brew?
