Yeah, I am at the point where I don't want to push my street RS any further on the track to avoid off. Cup car is the logical next step. I will list my RS for sale soon if no trade ... price will be very reasonable. Stay tune

Seriously get a 6-cup first. They're so reasonable these days and the learning curve is much faster.....

My vote is to keep the car and make it a 997 cup-sudo, without having to rebuild the engine and tranny every year or so!

This car stripped 100%, with DA & monoball suspension, cup wing... would go up against any 996 cup out there.

Stripp it and do a 3.9/4.0 upgrade and I think you will have more car than most of us will ever be able to handle at 100%

FYI, that would be my dream track/race car, no cup for me!

sequential is cool, until you get the $25k bill to rebuild it.

Plus I know 2 people that bought 997 cups and jumped right in and in less than a year had to replace all the gears or rebuild because they "learned" to drive a sequential in their cups.

If your downshifts and blips are not perfect, those dog teeth will be ruined faster than you can say "SEQUENTIAL"

my 2 cents

Plus, PMNA just came out with their Autoblipper which will be delivered with the 2011 Cup cars in the Spares Kit.
We got 3 of the first units from PMNA and will be trying them on our 2010 cars with our Patron cars.

Dave, how about that trade with Mooty and your 2006 Cup?

Hi James, are they providing the Manthey kit or did they make up their own version? Will it be legal in any US race series? I have it in my GTA2 car, can't wait to try it at Sebring.

BTW a cup engine will run AT LEAST as many hours as a normal GT3 engine. Less parts to wear out. Just depends on how hard you use it.

Yes, that will be a nice setup and I think it's basically like the Manthey kit
