Default KNOWLEDGE WANTED: GT3 CUP D.E. ENGINE OPTIONS??

ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOW IF I CAN STUFF A 2001 996 TURBO MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION INTO A GT3 CUP OR 'R' TUB?

SAME GOES FOR THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM.

ANY DIFFICULTIES PAIRING THE TWO? WITH NO SIDE VENTS ON THE CUP TUB LIKE THAT OF A TURBO TUB, WOULD IT BE AN ISSUE?

ANYTHING THAT WOULD BE A PROBLEM?

AS SOME OF YOU PROBABLY KNOW, IM LOOKING FOR A CUP IN ROLLER TRIM, OR READY FOR MOTOR TRANNY REBUILD, AND LOOKING TO INSTALL A GT3 STREET MOTOR IN ITS PLACE FOR ENDURANCE PAVED ROAD RALLYS.

THE TURBO MOTOR AND ALL WHEEL DRIVE WOULD BE NICE FOR THE RAIN AND GRAVEL SHOULDERS AS AN ALTERNATIVE DRIVETRAIN FOR THE SHORT TERM, THUS WHY I ASK, AND IT WOULD BE EASIER THEN LOCATING A GT3 STREET MOTOR.
I COULD RUN THE TURBO AND ALL WHEEL DRIVE UNTIL I FOUND A STREET GT3 MOTOR, OR PERHAPS A GT3 RACE MOTOR IF I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO FULL TRACK DUTY IN THE FUTURE. (THAT IS, UNLESS THE CAR GETS DISTROYED)

My recommendation is to pick a strategy and then execute it without being sidtracked by temporary options. Yes, turbo engines in Cup/R/RS/RSRs have been done before, but not without some significant engineering to accomodate the turbo plumbing and suspension alterations that are required.

If you ran intake ducting through the plexi windows you could get air to the engine...or maybe a roof scoop

It looks like im going to run a GT3 motor.

Im told that a GT3 cup motor can run on 91 octane pump fuel as is says in the manual.

Im also told that i can add the street cooling fans to the radiator with a manual switch mounted on the dash.

MMMMNN.... this way, i can run a basic early cup engine without having to swap in a street engine to rally the car...... in theory.......
any thoughts??

A GT3 Cup engine is designed to run on 98 RON octane which is about 93/94 octane USA/Canada.

that's amazing. we can still get 94 octane at the pump here. if only you could plate a Cup car and drive it to mosport and back

(sorry for the sidetrack. back to original topic)
