Default 03-05 Cup Car Cover

I am working with California Car Covers to make a template for the 03-05 996 Cup car (or street 996's with Cup wings). As soon as I am done, I will post the part # since a few people have been asking. Prices start at under $200 and it will be available in multiple materials for indoor and outdoor.

Ed I could take them my original for a template if necessary. They're only 20 miles or so from me....

If not, anybody know the best place to get an outdoor cover?

Thanks

I tried ordering one from automotion they promised they had the patterns, two moths later they threw in the towel and gave me my money back... There was one on evay but have no idea of the fit or quality...Porsche wanted $800....Still looking...

No luck here either. I broke down and ordered the Porsche one and an indoor cover showed up. That did not help.

I would have gotten one but the Walmart $75.00 special did the job. For my other car, the over priced Ferrari one at $475.00 made me cringe so I could not have stomached buying one for the race car that cost even more.

Calif definitely has the template as several of us have ordered from them. I can't find my reciept, but use my name John Gordon in So. Pasadena.....

I bought the one for a 996 gt2 mentioned in archives (one of the big companies in the noah fabric), and it doesn't fit the cup very well. Well, it kinda does, but won't pull down in the back all the way. I tried a walmart one, and it ripped. The gt2 one isn't bad though, and is probably the best bang for the buck.

I have a GT2 cover as well and it just ripped at the wing which was not a surprise given the poor fit.

Thank you JR, will be calling Calif Car Covers when they wake up on the West coast.

Kush, are you in NYC and/or racing at LRP at months end?

I went back and forth with California Car Covers three times and they could not make a cover that even came close to fitting. Finally they gave up and just refunded my money.

They told me they had a template and it was not even close. Maybe they got their hands on a car and figured it out.

I have a 996 with Cup wing and my cover from Cal Car Cover fits perfectly. Called up, asked for the JRG template, and had the cover was at my door in a week or so. This was back in November of 2009, not sure why others have not had as good an experience.
