Hi Carbodan,
As far as safety equipment was concerned everything did its job, but unfortunately no window net was in place at the time (on back-order due to Covid). My arm was flung through the window and very badly injured, especially at my wrist. I've had numerous ops and heaps of hand therapy over the last 9 months. I also have two cracked vertabrae in my neck, potentially could have been fatal without a HANS device.
The seat held well only the slider frame was cracked. The roll bar is essentially straight after 8 rollovers.
I ended up with broken fingers on both hands, a very badly broken left wrist, a punctured lung, dislocated elbow and the two cracked vertabrae in my neck. My wife and extended 'racing family'were very supportive during my rehab and after nine months (and a lot of commitment) I am back on the horse so to speak. Am looking forward to next year's racing calendar.
