955 Coolant Flush / Replace - How to purge old?
Is there a method to purge the system of the majority old coolant?
Drained radiator by pulling hoses and shop vac'd it too
Pulled radiator hoses into engine drained and shop vac'd it too
Reservoir is of course now empty
Perhaps 8 quarts removed
Have Airlift on hand ...will the pull down process extract anything?
Failing a method to drain more coolant, I will be forced to use the Hydrologists method: the solution to pollution is dilution
With the partial drain approach I would be at ~4 exchanges to get to 90% new

I bought a oil extraction pump and rigged it up in the reservoir so that it pumps out the old coolant and then I refresh the reservoir with distilled water. I did this a bunch of times until everything was clean and then I filled the system with the correct coolant/water ratio. It's not elegant nor fast but it gets the job done without taking the car all apart.

Use the AirLift system you have on hand. Not only will it extract virtually all the remaining coolant, but it will let you refill the system with hardly any trapped air pockets.

How does the dealer do it. I'm new to Cayenne myself (have done plenty of Boxster coolant flushes). I'm guessing I'll find a good DYI or Youtube video.

The Airlift doesnt get much ...perhaps a quart
The yield of my method was ~11 quarts, so that will be 3 exchanges to get to 90% ...major pain in the arsch
Note: Airlift pulls no fluid after my hose disconnect method

So the method was
Get an 1 5/8 radiator hose to use as vac extension wand
Remove upper and lower radiator hose where they enter the engine
Undo cap on expansion tank
Shop-vac radiator upper and lower and both ports at the engine
Reassemble
Airlift purge and fill
Fill was about 11
Drive to operating temp and circulate coolant
Repeat twice more
Net > 90% new coolant
Now good for another lifetime
I used coolant from VW, I believe they are all now G13

Can't seem to find the BASF Glysantin G40 in the States, but it looks like the stuff you get from the Porsche dealer.
