I came across your posts related to valve body replacement. I've an '07 Audi Q7 with the same transmission as the Cayenne, and experiencing the same symptoms described on the thread you responded to (harsh shifting, sometimes delayed, then big 'clunk', etc). I'm also in the Bay Area and would be very appreciative if you had any suggestions on the best way to get this addressed. I'm tempted to try replacing the VB myself but not sure how difficult this would be without correct tools. If there were someplace local that was familiar with the issue, can give me a firm diagnosis, and do the work for reasonable cost, I'd probably go that route. I'm not sure whether it's best for me to buy a new OEM part, a rebuilt unit (Sonnax?), or send my existing unit for rebuild. Would I still need to go to a dealer for reprogramming regardless?
