Default My Porsche Remote app (service) taken away for 2018- older

Just found out the 2018 Panamera and older will lose all My Porsche remote services from the app etc as of Jan 2023.

apparently we have 3g connectivity and vodaphone is deprecating it as of 2023. Even if you’re actively paying for it.

sucks as they have no retrofit to upgrade to 4g+ module per Porsche.

lame.

Didn't this happen back in 2019?

They did have a retrofit for a short time, then stopped offering it.

Not sure… I just know mine was/is working in my 2018 as of now and apparently I still have the 3g. But in a month it won’t work.

Dealer did a retrofit on my 2014. Replaced 3g with 4g module.

Here's the part number if you want to have the module upgraded:

Install was pretty involved --had to remove the center console, it was a good opportunity for me to have the Euro cup holders installed.

Unfortunately I have checked and Porsche says the upgraded module under that part number is NLA.

Received the email from Vodafone today, even though the car is still connected to the My Porsche app and sending data.

Yeah it sucks. I think folks were complaining and getting some vouchers from PCNA for parts/upgrades or something a while back. I'm not sure if they're still doing that.

I wonder if Vodafone will refund us the remaining amount left on our service contracts? I might call about that tomorrow.

I heard back from my dealership on Friday who looked into it for me. They said there is currently no 4G upgrade module available for 2017/2018 models. At one time there was but no longer, and they said there is no info if they ever would re-offer it.

Default Is LTE the new module??

I had my panny my18 in the dealer for something else and they updated some software.

i previously had the 3g module and was being sunsetted. But now it shows LTE at the top of the screen. Does that mean it is the new system or was it always lte?

There are two cellular modules. One for the PCM - LTE via AT&T or any provider via the SIM card slot in the glovebox. This provides the WiFi hotspot and some other infotainment data.

The sunset one is for the Car Connect service through Vodafone that was originally 3G, and provided remote control and monitoring services to the car.

The car will still connect to the My Porsche app and can still do a couple of things. But you can't lock/unlock the car, see fuel or mileage, etc remotely from the app anymore.

I have 2018 Panamera and have same issue. I claimed it to Porcshe(vodafone) and they sent me $750 voucher for parts and labor. But our loss of car value is much more than that. I am so disappointed.

How long ago did you receive that voucher? I called PCNA and they said they're no longer doing that. "We did it for a month but no longer." Horrible customer service stance. First they retrofit a few cars and bail on that approach. Then they issue vouchers to only the first few that complain? I called Vodafone in January and they said PCNA would be sending me something in a month....then nothing. So I call today and "Sorry, no. Can't help you."

Bad enough they sell a $200k obsolete car in 2018 but even worse that they back it up with bad customer service after the fact.

It does indeed boggle the mind considering the likely probability that there are more practicing attorneys in the owner demographic than other vehicles. It seems the notion of class action lawsuit does not register.
