Default Emergency Call Function Error

New pop up today when I start my car: “Emergency call function error, Service necessary.” Is anyone else receiving this message or know what’s up? Incidentally, I got a notification tonight that there is a new infotainment update, which I installed. But that did not resolve this SOS emergency call function error.

This isn't a 3G/4G issue is it? With the recent 3G phase out?

Aren't you under warranty?

Nope, I have LTE (this is a 2022 model, I should’ve mentioned).

Yes, but trying to avoid a trip to the dealer for a stupid warning especially if anyone knows a quick fix. Porsche probably doesn’t know about it yet or they could fix this very easily with an OTA update (that is if they wanted to…)

Well a few days later and the error disappeared. I’m not sure if an OTA update fixed it or what the problem was but glad I didn’t waste time taking it to service!

I have that same error; it popped up two days ago. Interestingly, it happened when my wireless Car Play kept going in and out. In any event, the phone works fine so I'll live with it until I bring my car in for annual service in 3 months.

As an aside, does anyone even know what the emergency call function even is?

I assume it is the ability to push the emergency button (which I think is labeled SOS) and call for help. Not sitting in the car but I think it is on the roof console.

I believe this was tied to Porsche Car Connect (Vodafone -- link). I had set up my subscription and I received the same Emergency Call function error message in the car. I was told it was because they had to re-provision the vehicle with the subscription renewal.

I have received this error periodically as long as I have owned the eHybrid. Pops up every couple of weeks, then the message goes away after a few hours. I have no idea what it is complaining about, and don't plan on taking it to the dealer to guess about what the source is, as it is unlikely to remain present after the 25+ mile drive to dealership.
