This comes from the cool kids over on the 992 forum...where they also get to see a photo of their car in production...just saying.

It is possible to identify what boat you're on with a bit of web browser knowledge. Assuming you're in chrome, do this:

1. Go to the TYD website.
2, Press the F12 key
3. Click on the Network tab
4. In the box to filter the requests type "api.porsche" (with no quotes)
5. Refresh the page
6. You should see a number of requests in the list but you want the one that has the name "USMGXXXXX" where XXXXX is your commission number and the type is xhr (NOT the one that says preflight). Select that one.
7. After selecting that one, click on the response tab. You will see a whole bunch of textual (JSON) details about your car.
8 In those details you will see something like this "ident":"IMO_9283875"
9. In a new browser tab, enter the url "https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9283875". But replace the numbers (only the numbers) with the numbers in your data.

That is the ship you're on. Note that anyone can do this and see more data than what the UI shows. You won't get boat data until your car is on a boat obviously.

Apparently mine just arrived at the dealer! So maybe you'll get yours tomorrow!

@gofit Looks great! I always liked GTS Red/Carmine Red. I had an '08 Cayenne GTS in GTS Red (had a 6-speed with a V8 - what's not to love about that combo?). Wish I had never traded that car in.

And yes...I've been tracking it on the TYD site. Excluding time for production...it's been fairly accurate.
Great news indeed! Beautiful car. Many happy miles. I received some good news as well. My dealer said my 4S cleared customs today and is getting a "birth certificate" I am assuming that means registered as a car that is now in the US?
Also found out my dealer has only cars going to his dealership picked up by the same transport and driver they've used for the last 6 years. As it is only a 5-hour drive from the port he thinks they will receive it fairly soon. Sooner than the TYD app.
My vehicle's arrival at the port was a day sooner than TYD.

My dealer gave me the name of the ship and I went to the arrival Port's website where info on the ship and tracking map was available. Estimated arrival time is shown. It was not updated from April 30th till a few days ago. I think if you pay some fees you can get more detailed info. That was for the Rhode Island Port. Not sure if they are all the same.

Waiting for pics from @gofit !

Today was the first really hot day, and I had the opportunity to use the vented seat feature.
Very good. Cools your lower back very nicely.
So far, zero disappointment, and all enjoyment.

How much PPF are you getting and where is ceramic coating being applied?
The PPF I just put on my Jag supposedly has the ceramic type coating in it.
My dealer wants $2500 for the front-end mirror package for the new Pany.
My biggest concern with PPF is that they don't use template cutting that doesn't wrap edges. Had that on first car and edges collected dirt and lifted slightly.
The high-end car shop that I had the Jag done at two weeks ago used sheet material cut to fit and rolled the edges they could get to.

For the PPF I went with a full front (Expel) including the A pillar and mirrors. Ceramic coating the rest of the paint (they use Gtechniq). I believe they use an Expel coating on the film. I'm not using the dealer...going with a great local company. They also wrap all the edges they can get too. My cost is very close to your dealer quote...plus the cost of the ceramic coating. I'm also having the wheels coated. All in about $ 4,000. Not cheap...but planing on keeping this one for a long time.

Just for another data point, I got the XPEL PPF track package which is the full front and the bottom 1/3 of the sides for $2600 and full XPEL ceramic for $1300. He also did the B pillars which I recommend for everyone. These guys used the XPEL templates but increased the size where appropriate to wrap the edges. I've since added the filler doors and spoiler for minimum additional.
