Well if it's any consolation, I went for my courtesy service for the 992 and a gentle 700+ miles round trip. They couldn't even see or read my car with their PT3G to reset the SRI...I ended up doing it myself and sent them proof as well as a "courtesy VAL" file.

I did take me forever to do a VAL on my 992 as to TOWMBO'd 2020 Macan S, I was told to stop futzing with it as she got all the mods she wanted so I stopped working on it. Last suggestion is contact @rnlst_log for any tips I haven't covered.

I understand that trying to save money is a normal thing, especially with PIWIS prohibitive pricing. But don't you guys think that supporting russian hackers is a bit unethical given current circumstances? A part of every $$$ you send to users with +7 950 area code is used to build rockets. Think about it next time.

Did you use version 40.450?
It was in V or E mode?
Try to switch V mode if it was in E.
And use VAS-Wifi instead of USB.
Watch your voltage for stable above 12.4V.

it seems to fail with all Macans with LED headlights, regardless of E or V mode, using VAS-WiFi, with 70A power supply.
No issue with other Macans w/o LED at all. Regardless if 40.450 or lower or higher release.

QQ for the experts here - I have a 40.6 PIWIS 3 clone, is it possible in a MY2022 992 to bypass 'PIWIS Online' and change configuration under maintain vehicle data (specifically, enabling PSE)?

The menu need to be activated on V mode, however its available on E mode.

After I purchased my new old MacBook Pro 17" last week, I took the SSD, installed it, and when I opened the 37.250 VMware version of Piwis, I made the mistake of clicking "I Copied it" instead of "I Moved it"
What can I do now? Delete the VM? I have the files on an external drive, but it's been so long that I installed it with help from a friend that I can't recall the steps. I'll read some notes to try to back track, but if someone can help guide me I'd appreciate it. After I clicked "I copied it", and opened the VM, Piwis has the Diagnostics and other buttons grayed out. By the time I remembered I should have opted for "I moved it", it was too late. I just hit enter and "I copied it" was already selected by default.

If that is the case, Filter LED out of diagnostic session, so that LED will not be interrogated during the session.

I had to use Time Machine and restore the VM
Then, I opened it, and clicked on "I moved it" and it's ok again

Well done! Can't beat a Mac... Alas, my Santa Rosa edition MBP was just too old even with an SSD and max out memory and I wasn't going to sacrifice my new M1 so I bit the bullet and went to the Dark Side... will I ever be forgiven...?

But I do have a notebook running Windows XP SP2 for my VAG-COM a definite step up from WIndows 10 (apart from the USB support)

not referencing any diagnostic work, but creating a VAL.

The VAL created will exclude LED, the same way they are excluded in diagnostic session.
