971 Turbo Oil Change

971 Turbo Oil Change
Has anyone changed the oil themselves on a 971 turbo? I'm trying to find info on oil capacity but my searches are coming up empty. My plan is to use Mobil1 0W-40 going into the winter. I hope to get a nice DIY listed after it's all done
Edit: looks like the Liquid Moly 0W-40 is not on the A40 list of approved oils

Costco is selling cases of Mobil 1 European formula 0-40. At some stores anyway. I plan to do this soon on my 970 S. Capacity is listed in your owners manual. 9L for the S V8. Turbo May be same - likely it's the same general engine platform.

1L = 1000mL
1 quart = 0.946L = 946mL, four 8 oz glasses, minus about one fifth of a glass.
Your gen Panamera turbo holds about 10 quarts. Process is same as 970 gen Panamera, easy. There is a

Not that I know of. Durametric doesn't list the 971 as supported, but there have been people using them on the 991s which are also not listed. I don't plan on resetting it since it shows another 6300 miles before service required. I'm changing the oil after the track days I've done this summer.

I have Durametric, which I use to reset any service interval needed. This is for 970 gen of this car.
I do not see any 971 choices in software for Durametric at this time.
Would be interesting is someone tried 970 setup in SW for the 971 to do reset. Formal answer is no though for 971.
See my thread on resetting service intervals for Panamera.

If someone wants to lend me a durametric, I'll gladly let you know if it works for 971. Other than that, I couldn't care less if the "change oil" light shows up in another 6300 miles. I'm likely going to move to a 5W-40 or 5W-50 for next summer before then.

LOL. Good luck my friend. These cables get coded to vehicles they get attached to, and most have a limit as to how many cars they can connect to.
Durametric, from what I remember, comes in 3 flavors: 1 car version, 3 car version (enthusiast - I have this), and pro (unlimited attach to unlimited cars).
Guess which is most expensive. Only the pro would be adequate to lend. One can find a one car attached, on forums. Otherwise, you would need to get from the vendor.
Good luck.
BTW, I use 5W40 Castrol syntec Edge full synthetic oil. Used this on Cayenne with great results. Find it more protective for hotter climates at starts.

I definitely will be moving back to a 5W for next summer, but figured I'd take advantage of the 0W since the car gets driven through the winter.
I also did complete the oil change yesterday and it was much easier than the 970 video made it look. Just remove the felt belly cover and remove the drain plug. The oil filter is up top in the center of the valley.
