I'm not sure. A good reason for me to swing by Sebring and check out the new RSR. I'll try to keep it below 4500 for 1000miles. Oil change and then gradually take it to redline.
Doing Sebring the 5th with chin but need to test a few upgrades on my 996gt3. Brought a CAE shifter from Germany and going solid engine and trans mounts.
Will have both the gt3 and the gt350 at Road Atlanta for thanksgiving.

I get the fact you are all gushy over the GT350 but let's not get carried away. This new car has as much in common with a "GT350" as kumquat has with a watermelon. It has 0 Shelby pedigree except for the licensed use of a dead mans name. Further Shelby's, except vintage models have had resales that have sunk faster than anchors especially for those paying stealer ship ADMs.
The ZL1 and Z28 also have historical significance and are great name plates. In fact I could convincingly make the case they have more pedigree than the new Shelby's as does the '12-'13 Boss.
New GT350 is a great track attack car. Let's not imbue with pedigree that is not there and inherent value not shown in contemporary resales.

Let's talk resale - GT350 is at the top of that one right behind the Porsche GT3- these Shelby's have been fetching near or over MSRP on the used market. I even sold the Boss 302 Laguna Seca for only 10k less than I paid after 3 years of hard track use - the pedigree is top notch mate, an American icon.

I give you guys credit for running Road Atlanta on street tires...I was sideways in 12 on slicks! Oh man was that "interesting" on the freakin' white flag lap too...last race of the season...almost bit it big time!

Zoinks!! Got a great pic at least!
As I crested the hill I heard pick up hitting the wheel wells and was like oh crap the car isn't gonna turn at the bottom of the hill...it didn't..still not sure how I save it...the team was like wow man we thought 100% you were gonna have a massive wreck.

You think engineers have to be immortal in order for a car to share lineage? Enzo has been dead for quite some time so are many of the great engineers who developed the 911 over the years.

Yes, Enzo has been dead for quite some time. However, there are no Ferrari's made or engineered outside the Ferrari plant by Ferrari engineers. Ferrari zealously makes sure of that.
Again, new GT350. Great car. Great track attack car. Zero Shelby pedigree except for its licensed name. It wasn't designed by Shelby American, had no input from Shelby American, it wasn't in any way, shape, form or manner assembled in whole or part by SAI, it carries no Shelby American parts or components. Zero. Doesn't mean its not a great track car but it is what it is. A licensed name on a Ford engineered, designed and manufactured car. Is that bad? No, not saying its bad but lets not puff it up to be more than what it is as to performance or pedigree.
Resale on new GT350's? I can buy a GT350 for MSRP now. Turned it down. Not interested. Historically, contemporary Shelby's have not faired well on resale with some minor exceptions and those cars came out of SAI either as pre-tite or post title modifieds.
If R production stopped and remains limited it has a shot at being a collectible just as the Boss LS which was built in true limited numbers and follows the Boss heritage in parallel. The GT350 tp and tech pack cars, nope. Too many. As soon as the the next latest and greatest comes along prices will drop. To believe or think otherwise is foolish. Not saying guys shouldn't buy them. Great track car and a performance value to have fun with as it was intended to.

I do wonder what happens to values once the GT500s hit...rumors of it being even lighter than the 350 but with gobs more HP and torque...could it be possible...if so, wow and say goodbye to the 350.

Waxer if you go back through the thread you'll never hear me say "this is a good investment" - i'm not in that camp. Again 2 simple facts 1) Resale is excellent 2) The GT350 is one of the great automotive icons of the last century. Big League

Hype & demand is real... outright commitment to buy one may have subsided since summer due to the ridiculous markups. A few K over- I can see more than some willing to take that plunge.... but for 10k, 15k or 20k+ over it's just too greedy and absurd IMO for dealers to do this to serious potential buyers. This is still a weight-burdened Mustang in the end.... sounds amazing, superbly fun to drive and performs well for its heft but asking to pay way above sticker will turn off/deter many in the market for one.

Never is a long time...You may see something you like down the road. Who knows...I have had way more issues with Porsche than Ford, and but still tend to buy both. Just gotta take it easy a bit and go with the flow. Life is too short.

As to resale, the car is only 1-2 years old. Hard to hang your hat on a claim of great resale value at this point. Lets talk in 4 years and see where it is.
