New Mustang: ZZZZzzzzzz
With much pomp and circumstance, the new mustang has been all over the news today.
I think the design is a snoozer. Looks pleasant enough, nothing bad, but nothing worthy of any sort of milestone. Beats the hell out of the mid-'70s embarrassment, but I would have expected something a lot more interesting.
What do you guys think?
Lest ye forget this monstrosity, behold the '70s version (ok, Mustang II):

What do you want from Ford? Bolt on some BBK intake and exhaust components and it will be a beast too.
And go easy on the Mustang II, will ya. I clearly remember being very impressed with the one my seminary teacher had. Well, it was an '83 or so and a very peppy little thing.

I absolutely LOVE IT. I think it absolutely makes all gen 5 models look totally dated. I love the meaner front end. The rear looks even more retro and mean, kinda resembles a 67 fastback to me.
I heard it's something like 300+ lbs LIGHTER than last year's model, big plus.
Also, the addition of independent rear suspension (finally can handle like a true sports car, and brace yourselves, stanced mustangs are coming), awesome.
Convertible model === awesome.
And best of all (flame all you want), in between low end v6 models and top end v8's, there's the new 2.3L ecoboost turbo 4 cylinder --- pushing OVER 300HP!
Cuda, if you don't think that's "more interesting" enough for ya, you're out of your mind!
Sounds like a bunch of great strides forward for the Mustang line to me.
I'm surprised and slightly depressed by the amount of hate this car is getting by everyone in the world.
Can't wait a few years down the road where I can afford a beast of an ecoboost 2015 stang as my economic daily driver.
Here's a huge pic of it just cause I'm feelin' obnoxious:

Ah, you are correct, Mr. Amber. Blame Mr. Google for that. Either way, I don't see any milestone in design advancement. A great car, don't get me wrong, but not one that sends shivers down me timber. In many ways, I preferred the design of my old '69 Mustang.

Never been much of an american car guy, but I do respect the mustang and it's now coming with independent rear suspension. I do like what Ford has done with the 2015. They are planning on exporting them around the world. I find this more interesting than the actual design of the vehicle.

It looks ok but they went a little overboard with all the little touches. It's like a one of everything sort of deal.
Just a little too busy with the ridges on the hood, the pagoda roof, the smaller indicators in the lower grille by the fog lights. The vents in the hood add to the clutter.
A little too garish but probably a decent car.

Its kind of like the 911. There is only so much you can change the body yet still have it keep the same basic original form.

Not crazy about the headlamps, but overall it looks great. I have no clue how it's supposed to handle, or what kind of long term reliability there will be on it.

That's what 911 fans want and the new Mustang is what Mustang fans want.

Looks better than all the previous ones to me although I tire of seeing any them as they are everywhere.

I'm interested to see the performance of each trim level. With 3 engine options, the V6 is the base and a 2.3ltr turbo is mi-level, how will they compare? Released information indicated similar performance for both engines...
