Nice video of a beautiful car.

Any reason they did not give the time? Heavily edited vid, too; hopefully the 918 overtaking wasn't edited out.

Seemed like there was more time spent filming trees then the car. Weird sounding engine note too.

the view from overhead at around looks like something squished the car. I am sure it is a great fast car but not a fan. Sounded like Darth Vader was in the car.

Mclaren can say whatever they want about not posting a ring time, but for them to promote the P1 in a video like that, they kinda have to...that is the whole freaking point of that track (other than a great development testbed for street/track cars).

Apparently the P1 is equipped with a KERS system that works one of two ways. One way is your typical F1 style mode, where at the push of a button, it delivers extra power to the rear wheels.

Or, this is where it gets awesome.

It can apply the energy as a load to the motor to keep the motor in boost as long as you're applying the gas.

Unconfirmed marketing BS.

BTW, that video was filmed summertime, ie. earlier than 918's, so they my guess is that they did 6:59...next chance to try comes after 6 months...
