7:37 wet lap, with Chevy predicting a 7:31 dry lap.

How is this possible for a stock car?

Impressive lap time. If you want a Camaro, this would be the one to get.
Amazing how quickly the middle marketplace compressed the performance range to the high and very high end. The gaps aren't what they used to be, you can almost throw a (large) blanket over a Z28, C7, ZR1, Viper, M4, GT-R, 4.0RS, 991 GT3, Gallardo, R8, MP4-12C, SLR, 458, LSA etc.

Price target is below the ZL1 I believe, about 55K, someone correct me.
That's great driving, who's the driver?
Looks like a fun car but at 3800lbs I cant put much faith in it.
The new Z06 should be the C7 Z51 with the Z28 brake, weight and track dedicated setup treatment!

That is considered a "wet" lap? Unless I watched the wrong link, I saw no real windshield wiper action or standing/moving water which this track is notorious for when it is in fact raining. Actually, it looks like a nice cool day too---those are actually fairly good Nordschleife conditions IMO. I'm all for Gov't. motors making an affordable track car but until they stress test it at a track like Sebring, in the month of July or August, I'm happy to let the early adopters spend their money first and report back later......

The estimated base price is $65K. The lap time is not as impressive as it seems since the car comes standard with DOT R Compound tires - Trofeo R.
"Milfords Nürburgring-like high-speed esses pass beneath us with nary a wiggle or twitch from the chassis. (Check out the Z/28s 7-minute and 37-second run on the real Nürburgring here.) Much of the credit goes to the 305/30-ZR 19-inch Pirelli Trofeo R tires that reside at each corner. Wheel size is staggered slightly19 x 11-inch front, 19 x 11.5-inch rearto improve rear tire handling at the limit. Chevrolet tells us going with the 19-inch tire-and-wheel package saves 48 pounds over a 20-inch setup, and lowers the center of gravity by 1.29 inches".

3800lb is too heavy. Are yall sure its that heavy?
Still man can you imagine the cost to replace the the carbon brakes?
I dont anticipate seeing many of these on the track.
