Parts are easily swapped with the Mustang II. Had a buddy years ago that built a very nice Pintang.

The steering columns had a tendency to lock up, while driving.

That's a feature, not a problem.

I lost my virginity in the back of my '73 Pinto, so that makes me an expert.

Things to remember? Condoms only unroll one way, or they break when forced. Especially during the darkness of night.

Other than that, why the hell would anyone want a Pinto?

One of the many reasons you dont see them around much is people used them for dirt track racing after stuffing in a V8.
We had a few around the farm when I was growing up, and they were a blast to jump terraces in , and when the bottom pasture held water we would go hav Lots O fun sliding them around.
Lots of dirt road fun as well.

What part of the bank of the Pinto did you jam your junk in to?

^Ha, yea they jump pretty well^

It also will tow a 16' trailer with 3 motorcycles, 1 ATC and a Honda Odyssey across miles of sand if you keep it maxed out in second gear.

Even though they have a reputation for burning, the paint on mine got completely scorched from a bonfire started with too much gasoline. But it never actually caught fire.

I seem to recall some corrosion issues in the snowbelt. But that was a long time ago; I'm sure they've worked that out by now.

I've rebuilt a number of pinto motors, but they were in FC cars.

I remember renting them from Hertz when I did my teenage Florida flings. They were a POS then and doubt they got much better after almost 40 years.
