i drove a 360 stradale for a day....i just couldnt get used to the low speed characteristics. it constantly felt like the parking brake was on, plus the visability sucked. it sounded "pretty nice" with the tubi exhaust though *gasp*

Modern ferraris 360, 430, californias, etc .. etc .. are nice and reliable cars.
i would like to keep the my Pcar and buy a 360 modena. (Not F1)

Older models, 355, 348 and back are nice cars, but more complicated and less reliable.

Everyday car ...?? I dont think so.
maintenance and repair bills are high, and value plunks with high miles.

I drove a friends 360 a couple of years ago; very fast car; lots of power; rough ride - I wouldn't want to drive 60 miles in that thing. Paddle shifting was neat and quick.

owned one, briefly. took it to the track too

there is not a single performance category that my .2 PDK (including speed of shift, in fact especially speed of shift) would not literally pistol-whip it in. of course, it was an '04 and the .2 is an '09

but looks... the 360 and F-GT are in my humble opinion the most beautiful cars of the last 30 yrs, easy!

Drove my friends F430 with ceramic brakes (which made my choice on PCCB's). The engine sounds great, but you have to keep it wound up at high RPM to really work the car. Brakes were the best I've ever work with.

He sold his to get a 997 Turbo and is looking at the GT2. Couldn't take the maintenance on the car, just too steep.

Fun car those F430's. Lot's of great noises and looks, but to drive it often can make you tired in the seat. To enjoy it, you have to drive it HARD and FAST. Or, just cruise the blvd in second gear and watch heads turn as you listen to the engine behind your ears!

Sure, it's a sexy car, but I like the 997 interior for GT street use, but for track, you can't beat a F430 or CS style with all the carbon fiber.

turned faster laps in my TT than my 430.

then again, the TT had CCB's the 430 did not. but it wasn't the brakes. in fact, i'll expand on that;

when we are at the track we see some guys show up in their 430's (never 360's anymore, no point). we take a poll on how long they'll last. if they don't have CCB's i can tell you it's rarely more than 4-5 laps.

if you do a search here you may find one or two guys doing the mea culpa about thinking their 430's were track cars until they actually tried it, and fried it. very expensive mistakes.

the Scud will track pretty well though, but don't try to outrun a Cup...

I have been debating whether I should pick up a 360. I'd love to have a Ferrari. For me it's a question of getting a 360 or trading my 997.2S in at some point in the future for a paint to sample Turbo.

Yeah, but he was back on the GT3 board a few months ago sniffing around and the last time I was at our local OPC I saw that his name is on the top of the list for an RS.

I will preface this by saying that I consider myself a "Porsche Guy".

I own a Stradale, a GT3RS and an '09 997 S Cab.

The is NO question in my mind that if you want a raw driving experience, that the Stradale is "the" car to own. If you want a car that can be a daily driver, and can go to the track - the Porsche is the way to go.

oh yeah, raw, in a good (great) way. the CS is, IMHO, the best of F's offerings since the F40 in terms of what one really wants a Ferrari for.

having said that, the RS can lap faster, no doubt!
