Had a full Mavic drive train/wheels on a Kestrel frame in the late 80's thru 01. The whole thing weighed 19.5 lbs.

Never failed on me, but perhaps you know of some that did. hey, in truth I liked Campy and Shimano too (had Shimano on my Klein for years).

Your friend should take his 360 in I owned two 360's now a 06 430 coupe, and a 06 997S 997s steering might best on any off the 30 something 911's I've owned but nothing like a modern Ferrari

It was the turn in on the 360 that "got" me first. I have no idea what he's talking about either.

kestral and mavic in late 80's, you are very avant garde!

shimano is nice, but freaks like us tend to be stuck on campys. though their current crankset, alum or carbon are just junk. try a set of FSA carbon or Dura Ace cranks, you will realized that campy cranks are just an euphamism for noodles.

back to ferraris.

carnut, any thoughts on the 430 compared to the 360? I'm curious as to the driving dynamics b/t the two cars. these cars are like crack, and can't help but to wonder what the 430 is like. . . .

Before my 430 arrived, I was told how much different it is than the 360, frankly I really did not think it was going to be that big a difference. I was wrong, it really is a very different car. Hope you get the chance to drive one. You should check out Ferrarichat.com, lots of good information on there.

Uh oh il tifosi are out in force. Let's not descend on the naysayer because he has an opinion (even if it is err an "interesting" one). The 997S has great feedback and feel in the steering. I'd venture to say even more so than the GT3 RS.
The Ferrari 430 has sublime telepathic in feel and feedback. Then again the NSX is for me the best sports car ever and is the one car I will always regret selling.

Frayed, what did I say before? Your car is not even in your garage and you're thinking F430.

Ha. That's me. 4 porsches in 24 months, now onto a fiat, and still looking. I'm married, so its the only way I can get a little *strange* w/o imminent divorce. LOL.

However, today I picked up my new to me E36 M3 as my beater. Totally digging it.

My track car is almost done too.

So, I reckon my 430 interest will subside while I play with some new toys. I hope so anyway.

I so understnd your sick. I traded my track monkey for the 360 because I didn't want to loose my 997 C4S as my daily driver. But now I have no tracktoy

My wife will tolerate just about anything but a mistress

So I still have a Jones to feed. As Huey said..".I wanna new drug"

Thinking spec Ford, but Holy Spit, already ordered new pads and R compunds or the 360, but...

Sincerely,

Verklempted

I drove a 360 Spyder with F1 shift for about 2 weeks. The attention was interesting. The noise glorious (stage 3 Capristo exhaust) though friends found it overbearing. I didn't care for the F1 shift but I got used to it. I couldn't quite get comfortable in the seat though, I just needed like an inch or two more room rearward. So I figure the 550 will be a better fit for me.

I'd opt out and get ceramic brakes, they're more expensive.

What R-comps did you go with and what sizes? I've only really seen the CS's as a possibility. Thanks...
