Quabin Reservoir Fun Run!
#17
Jay,
Can you send out an email to local PCA members to determine if there's any interest? Not sure how many surf this site but the general goal is to get everyone together one last time before the winter.
Let me know if I can assist.

So long as the weather holds up let's plan on Sunday October 21 which should coincide with near peak color change. If rain is being forecast I would suggest moving it back one week to the following Sunday October 28.
There are two potential meeting spots we can select from that will be easy to access. As you turn left on to the 32 and drive a couple of miles there is a Big Y on the left, or we can meet at the Quabbin Reservoir Park which is on Rt 9 near the bottom of the reservoir. I didn't see any small coffee shops with decent sized parking lots unfortunately so we are limited. From these locations we can choose the drive around Quabbin or the 116 winding roads depending on how much time everyone has.

From Jason's description, Rt 2 sounds like a lot of fun. I'm up for anything new though, and most of central MA besides the Mass Pike would be new. This area looks surprisingly close to UConn on the map...quick shot up 84 or 32.
I can spare Sunday morning until somewhere from noon to 2 PM...have a couple exams that week to prep for. For meeting time, the earlier the better (to a point ).

Postpone to October 28
This wasn't something I anticipated but the maintenance being performed on my car is taking slightly longer due to finding a few "while you're in there" add on items. My car won't be ready for the 21st run so I would like to determine if others are ok to change it to Sunday 10/28/07.
I'm in agreement that the 116 Winding Roads look like they would be more fun but it's been a while since I've driven these roads (used to go Mt biking at Skinner) so it would be helpful to have someone lead that is familiar with the roads and area. Any Takers?

the 28th works for me, although i may be nursing a bit of a hangover. the 27th is the satruday before haloween, and im from Salem, ma. Haloween is already in full swing here... can't walk down the street without be swarmed by people in costume, even on weeknights.
