Description:

Hey there! My name is Chris, and I’ve been a huge fan of the Carrera GT since it was launched when I was 19. I’ll never forget in 2004, I was 996 shopping with my dad (his dream car was a 911), and I got the opportunity to sit in a Carrera GT and row through the gears. I told my dad then and there that I’d get a CGT one day (he laughed). I’ve followed prices since then, but never had enough money to pull the trigger.

In 2023, after saving for a decade and driving a Corolla, I decided it was time to finally get my Porsche before everything went electric, and it’s a long story, but that journey lead me to getting a 911 S/T. I called 110 dealerships before finding just one that’d sell me an S/T without a prior purchase history, and at an affordable price. I absolutely love my S/T, but there’s just no comparison to a Carrera GT.

I know that’s a lot of information, but the reality is, I will likely never be able to afford a collector-grade CGT. So this wanted ad is hoping there’s someone out there with a mechanically-sound CGT that’s super high mileage, or for whatever reason, due to repainting, or a bumper replacement, etc., it’s within my paltry $1.4 million budget. Maybe your priority isn’t solely money, and just want your CGT to go to a good owner that will drive it as intended. You found him!

The truth is, I don’t care about miles or resprays because it’s not an investment to me. It’s a car I’ll enjoy driving, and I don’t have a collection of cars (unless you consider my Kia Carnival and Corolla) so it will be the one I always pick to drive on the weekends. I’ve already put 4,400 miles on my S/T in less than a year, so no garage queens here - these cars were designed for driving, and I intend to do just that.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you soon

Good luck! If you get a driver CGT, make a few vids about the experience for us mere mortals! CGT is also my favorite car of all-time.

The black ones are surprisingly rare and look incredible.

I recently saw an all black one, black interior, black wheels, with the pop of yellow PCCB. Just- wow.

Good luck with the search, and if you want your S/T to go to a good home with someone who will continue to drive it but doesn't have the money for what it's actually worth you found him I'd be more than happy to pay it forward and give you way less than the S/T is worth so you know it will be driven and not parked haha!

weak pitch for an early x-mas gift aside, the top Carrera GT shop probably in the world is about 10 minutes from my house, Repasi Motorwerks. Jimmy has touched a strong percentage of these cars and is in touch with a lot of the owners, many of them ship their cars across the country just to have him do their services (Doug Demuro). If I were you I would reach out to them, explain what you are looking for, and it's possible Jimmy knows a person or a car that may fit your needs. And there is nobody better to PPI your Carrera GT than him before you buy.

I hope you find it!

Thank you!! And I certainly would if my S/T didn't represent most of my "chips" towards a CGT

I just sent him a VM! And I hope he has a sense of humor, because I butchered the VM, so I tried to re-record it, but his VM system didn't allow it... ugh - so its just me pressing buttons for 2 minutes... can't make this up <face palm>

I have a strong suspicion they are, but the real question is whether or not the owner wants to part with it

Thanks! That’s why these cars are so crazy valuable, for so many of us it’s the all-time favorite. And what a car it is!
