I think you are right. Most buyers are looking for reasons to lower price. Color is a big example. I was told once that black, white, silver cars require no "story". Each to his own.

I know I am comparing apples to oranges but anything 993 or earlier is worth many thousands more without a sunroof. I am sure back in the day the salesmen pushed the sunroof if only to make a few more dollars.

If you get the alcantara headliner instead of the pano roof, you will have a captured market of anyone over 6'3".
