Default Thinking about getting a used Macan, what are some essential features?

I have a well optioned 991 already so can get my kicks there. The Macan would be for dog/kid/Costco runs etc. I'm thinking base and low options should be ok but wondering what people think is crucial to have.

Also, the used market looks pretty thin. Comment on this or advice?

The premium plus package really did everything for a macan (IMO). You are going to get lots of opinions. Go on the Porsche site and look what's available and decide what is important for you.
I have a well optioned turbo but gave up AS which some say is a must, if I need a lower vehicle then I take the 911..

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm looking for. I'd be in the same situation.

It's a great DD and excellent stable mate to a true Porsche sports car like your 991 / 911 or a Boxster variant.

Essentials? I wish I had Air Suspension but more just for the lowered stance. I enjoy the full leather and the heated seats, panoramic roof but would get roof racks and forgo the maple steering wheel. Mines probably more on the "cush" end of things than I would normally get but again it's a nice balance to the more hard core sports car.

Thanks..

What do you all think about pricing. The used prices seem so close to the new, does it make sense to buy used at all?

This car below went for $64k and change new and now is listing for $60k with 12k miles on it. There seems to be a pretty short supply. Could maybe get this for 58 or 59 which would amount to a $5k drop from new.. not sure this makes sense.

2015 Macan S: $60k

It doesn't. You're better off getting a new one. CPO prices are usually more favorable when the car hits the 3-year mark.

+1 on PASM w/o AS. LA roads suck and PASM makes it more bearable. When I need to corner fast, flip a switch and I'm there. I also love Premium Package Plus and Comfort Lighting. Who wants a bear bones "luxury" SUV with no features?

True but I do have a 991 C4S already so I'd be ok if the Macan was a bit less performance oriented.

This one is actually well optioned and it's listed at probably $10K below sticker but it has over 12K miles.

Here's the thing about principal though: You spend close to 85% of the MSRP and you still end up with a used car. That is not easy to swallow for me.

You mean the one I linked? It was $64,280 MSRP when sold.

There you go. Lose 12K miles and compromise for a lousy $4300 gain. No deal.

Asking price for a used Macan is not selling price. If your motivated, go look at it. $4300 bucks for a years worth of driving. I would go buy new. $8ooo? I could be swayed. Options I'd never cough up the dough for?
