Push Button Start

This is probably a dumb question, but has anyone retrofitted push button start on a Macan? I know the "key" is a Porsche legacy thing and it's cool, but I'd honestly prefer to have push button stop start if it can be done in a reversible way.

Why do you prefer the push button vs the legacy key?

Really?
It's cleaner and more current technologically. If I'm not mistaken, most newer Porsche models have given up on the silly fake key thing.

I guess I’m just old school (or maybe just old) 😁 I still like the feeling of turning a key and besides what are we really talking about in time and effort savings? You still have to extend your finger/hand somewhere to start the engine. Plus there is a certain satisfaction with doing it on the left side of the steering wheel. I really hate it when I drive my Lexus and everything is on the right/center and I inevitably start out on the left side. Dohhh!

I've had push button start on a few BMW's and Acura's and love the idea of turning a "fake" key to start my Macan. It's a nice link to Porsche history.

I seem to remember that on my early 60's TR3 you had to insert and turn a key and then press the start button. Best of both worlds! ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
On our Porsches it's sort of like the secret handshake...use left hand, turn "key". Welcome, you must be a member.

I honestly really like in my Audi and Acura that you don't even have to put it in park. You just pull in and press "off". I understand this conversation is kind of nonsense but I miss the simplicity of other modern designs. Give me a manual transmission and then I'll be more supportive of the fake key.

people told you what they prefer and why and asked why you prefer something else.
No one called you names or was “nasty” at all.
by the way, checked the new Cayenne pictures on Porsche.com and it does look like there is a push-button in there. Since this it’s the last of the ICE Macans, we will not see the push button in it (25 or if there is a 26 version).
there is history and legacy with some things and people certainly prefer them unchanged…
