Hello, all.
I just purchased a 2020 Macan base and I have a few questions concerning coding. As background, I traded in my Q5 to get the Macan. With the Q5, I used a dongle called OBDEleven to do a variety of control and display coding, such as Scandinavian lighting, hatch opening delay, gear select display, etc.
While OBDeleven does not cover Porsches, I took a chance and ordered an icarsoft PorV3 scanner in hopes it would do something similar. Specifically, I would like to 1) permanently turn on the lights for the instrument cluster display and 2) permanently turn on the rear tail light bar. Any thoughts on how I could do this? Is this the correct scanner? If not, can any home DIY scanner do this?
Not sure about the iCarSoft scanner, but a large number of features have been documented for coding by both PIWIS and Launch x431. See this spreadsheet, maintained by some people on the Macan Forum.
Thank you. I have reviewed that spreadsheet, and neither of the items I would like to address are mentioned. I would even consider purchasing a Launch tool if they were. I find it frustrating that there is no simple coding system like OBDEleven for Porsche. But, life is full of tradeoffs! Thanks again!

I would LOVE to have the instrument cluster lights stay on during the day! I read that with PIWIS, you can change the instrument cluster to the white dial option and it will work, but I haven't yet tried it.
for coding better buy a Piwis and a good pt3g adapter, not the cheap clone vas6154.
just my opinion
I have a PIWIS III (clone) with the pt3g. Works well on my 981, but haven't really done much exploring on the '23 Macan yet other than resetting the oil change reminder when I did my 1st oil change at 5k miles. One of these days soon, I will get into the programming side of it. If anyone is in SF Bay Area (San Jose) and wants to come by and use it (at your own risk, of course), DM me...
Is it possible to see transmission temp in the instrument cluster screen (where you can see oil and water temp)? It may already be in the available options, but I'm not near my car right now to check. The talk about the PDK in standard driving mode shifting to 7th gear at 30-ish mph, and how one of the clutches is engaged in that scenario, etc... I'm thinking transmission temp would be a handy data point to be able to see.
