Default AWD module location

I had a bunch of fault codes pop up related to the AWD/ABS/TC system. It's not the usual wheel speed sensor (replaced all of them already). From reading here it seems to be a fairly common issue with the AWD control module (95B927771). The dealer has none and they don't have an ETA from germany for a new one. So, instead of leaving it at the dealership for the next 6 weeks, I got one off ebay. My only problem is where is the old one? The parts diagram clearly indicates that it is located in the car. There's zero direction anywhere on the internet as to where in the car it is. The service manual states "replace module". Is it up under the dash on the passenger side, drivers side, etc? If anyone has replaced one of these I'd love it if you'd save me a few hours of hunting and disassembling the interior.

It's a 2015 LHD, S. Thanks.

It is either in the right side compartment of the cargo area, or it is in the spare tire/battery well.

I checked the right and left side quarter panels. It's not in either of those. I didn't check around the spare. I'll try that tomorrow. In the wiring diagrams it's electrically right next to the transmission control module. I need to move the 996 out of the garage so I can tear the macan apart in the AC.

Checked in the passenger footwell and fuse box area, not there either. Cayenne is supposed to be under the passenger seat. Thats next

So, not to sound dumb....but do you have the optional PTV+ rear diff? That is what is connected to the 95B 927 771 control module. The PTV+ rear diff has a small motor and electric wiring harness visible. The regular (non-PTV+) diff has no electrical components/wires attached to it.

Without the PTV+ option, there are only two modules associated with AWD/ABS/TC. The ABS control module (mounted to the ABS actuator in the engine compartment), and the AWD control module (mounted to the Transfer Case, behind the transmission.)

The PTV+ Locking Diff Control Module 95B 927 771 is located behind the cover on the left side of the rear cargo area:

Apparently not. Which is why locating the module has been fruitless. Based on the year/make/model the porsche parts website I did, but based on the vin, the dealer says I don't. All the codes have cleared and didn't come in when I drove it around the neighborhood, so I'm just going to go with it and drop it at the dealership next time. Or sell it. I have less issues with my 24 yo 996 than this car.

yeah that looks like a fun one to "locate". That is the part number in the durametric that had the fault codes, so if they come back, that's probably where I'll end up. (IE later this weekend)

Codes came back after about 20 minutes of driving, so it looks like I'm going to be under the car this weekend. Hopefully I don't have to remove the transfer case to replace the motor, but that would make changing the fluid easier!
