Macan Mud Flaps - Yay or Nay?
Thinking about getting mud guards. Good or bad idea? Let's talk about it.

If you like road rash, don't get mud guards. OTOH, if you have a light paint color, the black mud guards will be somewhat more noticeable but, once you get used to them and the protection they afford, you'll forget they're there. You could get a heavy grade of paint protection film applied in the rash-prone areas but it will be exponentially more expensive than mud guards.

I have no regrets about my decision.

First thing I did when my GTS was delivered. Keeps road rash to a minimum and I use the Macan quite a bit in the winter months when roads are sloppy in my neck of the woods.

No. They look like some high schooler bought something from Pep Boys and screwed them onto his car. Have PPF done in the effected areas and renew it when it gets bad every couple years

I installed them on my 2017 Midnight Blue base and think they are an improvement. They keep mud spray off the car and, as others have mentioned, prevent road rash.

Flaps
I have them even with PPF on
rockers and behind wheel wells on Rhodium turbo. Really help and don’t notice anymore. They can be easily removed w/o wheel removal in the summer if desired.

Aftermarket. They resemble the Cayenne OEM ones though.
Rears mount with the existing fender liner screws. Fronts have two drill points if you choose to for a more secure fit in addition to the existing fender liner screws. I used one of the extra screws on each side. Don't really need to though. Could probably just use double sided adhesive.

That's a hard no from me.
I have Xpel on the rockers and ~10 inches up the door to the crease, along with the lower rear bumper area behind the wheels. Driving year round with plenty of mountain trips and everything still looks great.

I went XC skiing up at the end of a round that is closed in winter in Washington state (Mountain Loop Highway). For about the last 5 miles, I think they "sanded" with gravel because I could hear it bouncing off the wheel wells and undercarriage. Glad I had the mud flaps, otherwise the front wheels would have been kicking that onto my rocker panels.
