He last posted on the MacanForum.com site about a week ago saying "Yes,Im still here "
Just worked with him to get Apple CarPlay and Andoid Auto on on my 18 GTS...super easy process and great guy to work with. I just need to get a GPS antenna to get GPS as well
not sure there is a difference re MY, but I can confirm a retrofit of full GPS nav, carplay and AA functions to a 2017 US Macan which came with a plain, basic PCM w/o any functions ordered.
The GPS antenna was already installed, so no HW required at all. Firmware patch plus nav database added, fully functional now.

Assume this ends up being a "wired" Android Auto connection? I can't find any specs on the USB port (in my 2017 Macan GTS) so wondering how well it might charge newer USB C based Android phones that conform to Power Delivery requirements? For those that have worked with Sima to get this installed, what's your experience with charging the phone while running AA?
I am in a 2017 Macan S and the charging is not great. I am getting between 150-300 mA according to the Ampere app on my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Today I run a Motorola MA1 to run Android Auto wirelessly and plug my phone into the smoker's package with a 2.4A charger when I actually need to charge it up while driving.

I haven't tried one yet but planning on one of these Motorola wireless/bluetooth Android Auto adapters:

That's good to know...how do I confirm that a GPS antenna was installed?
Hi,
I saw an option in PCM4 to display the number of GPS satellites currently connected.
Its one of the options you can change in the display instead of showing MPG, temp, distance travelled, av speed, etc etc
There's a long list of selectable options to display in the 'car' screen of the PCM.
Im assuming the field will only be selectable if GPS is already installed and functioning.
Just for reference mine was connected to 8 satellites.
