Default Nonsensical Tire Pressure Warning

I'm getting a warning on my 2018 Macan that the right rear tire pressure is -4, yet when I look at the tire pressure screen to see the status of all 4 tires, the pressure levels on all four tires are correct. It seems like it can't be a bad sensor since the main screen is correct, it just seems like the warning system is confused. Has anybody seen this and is there a solution?

I have seen this at times and after a few minutes, the pressure reading on that same tire can fluctuate as much as 3 psi. I would get a good, independent gauge and measure what the console shows you and what you measure yourself. Perhaps the whole TPS system needs a reset? That's I believe an option. See for example: https://enginepartsdiagram.com/porsc...g-light-reset/

thanks - this isn’t very helpful. I’ll give it a try next time I’m in the car.

Thanks -- this did the trick. I set the tires from 19" to 20", then the display says you need to drive to 15 mph for it to reset, then set it back to 19" All-Season, and the warning was cleared after driving it again. On the Q5, there was a direct reset function -- not sure why you have to trick it into resetting with incorrect tire settings in the Macan, but it works. I love the Macan even more than I loved our prior Q5 (which was a lot), but "newer is not better" with most stuff related to the user interface in my experience.

Glad the additional information was of use!

I am getting the same warning on my 2020 Macan S. It seems to only happened now that the temps in Wisconsin are getting cold. Once the car is on the road and driven for 10 miles, it seems to go away.

So when I do the switch to winter snow tires and wheels the system will not reset itself unless you dip down into the settings an choose winter tires and the circumference of the wheels. Only then and 15 miles will it reset.

...that's 15 M(PH) - not miles. Recently switched over to winter tires - then back again - and went through the procedure 2X.

I didn't drive any 15 miles for the TPMS system to reinitialize to the alternate set of tires (20" winter vs. 21" summer) - just down the street & back.

AS I mentioned above I had to change the settings before the TPMS would reset itself..

What tire pressures are you running with?

Been a while since I resolved this once on my 997.1TT No winter/summer change.

Recommended is 39/44. One rear went to 37 and dial showed -4. It shows -4 no matter how low. Except flat.

Pumped up by 4, so now at 41 by independent reliable mechanical gauge. So over the recommended now.

Warning went out, drove it 10 minutes, reset TPMS. Then let some air out to bring back to recommended.

No solution on our end on our 2017 Macan S.

This has been an ongoing issue with ours. We have consistent readings of -4 to -6 on all four tires. Each time we bring it in the tires are "fine" .

Replacing the tires this month but to be honest it is a pain in the ***.

I honestly believe it is an issue with the TPMS sensors.
No solution on our end yet.
