Brake Dust Expectations
How is the normal daily Brake Dust accumulation on the Macan compared to the 911? Is the Base similar to the base & "S" similar to the "S"?
Just trying to get an Apples to Apples assessment. While building an "S" I see they offer the Porsche Surface coated Brakes for $3,500.
I know on my second set of pads for my 911 I'll get a different set of pads to decrease dust.
THX.

Lots of brake dust on my 19 S. Missed optioning the platinum colored 20" wheels, that may have helped to hide the dust from the silver stock color wheels. PSCB was not available on the 2019s or I would have opted for it for the dust. Wife's 08 Cayman is the same. Oddly the 2014 911 is very low on dust. Stock pads all around.
I'd go for the PSCB but as they are first generation, do you research on how folks like the braking on them. Good luck.

brake dust on our 2017 is on par with my Cayman and GT3. Ceramic coating the wheels makes a big difference in cleaning.

Got PSCB's on my new Macan Turbo. Although I haven't put on a substantial amount of mileage I can tell you that the white calipers are free of any noticeable brake dust.

Fit a set of these and watch the brake dust dissapear entirely.

The will give up a small amount of braking distance, i would estimate 5%.
You should not use these on track days if you are inclined to take a Macan S to DE School.
They work!

The s dust is brutal on my 20. I’d give up performance for this. It’s a daily .....
already etched a front wheel a bit on the silver finish too and the dust is not sitting longer than a week at a time.
pissed me off washing it Sunday. It’s worse than the race pads on my gt3

The Akebono Ceramic pads work. I put them on my wife's SQ5 Audi (essentially the same brakes as on the Macan S) and the dust was gone. I will probably retrofit them to our new Macan S soon. There was a slight loss in braking distance, but not very much.

I put powerstop ceramic pads on my wifes SQ5 because the rears were done and its coming up on lease return. They were cheap and the difference in dust is huge. They feel fine, these cars have plenty of brake for daily drivers.
Can anyone confirm the Akebono part numbers for GTS/Turbo fronts? They show the same as the S, do they all use the same front pad?

Dust
I am 13k into a set of Disc Italia Ceramics and pleased with little dusting. Have same pads on my ‘10 Box S w/drilled oem rotors. I think the drilled rotors create a good bit more dirt vs the plain/slotted rotors on the Macan.

Changing brake pads on all 4 corners and ceramic coating all 4 wheels is not a walk in the park. Definitely a full days work if not a partial weekend for a DIYer. If you take it to a shop get ready for a big bill $$$. Also even if you change from a semi metallic pad to a ceramic pad you're still going to have brake dust accumulation.
