Default Driftking... yes, he liked my del Sol better than 996 TT...

So, during filming of Hot Version video American Touge 3, Driftking said he gave my del Sol 95 points. That means it edged out the 996TT which scored 94... Of course this does not mean the del Sol is faster than the 996TT. It just means that he thinks the del Sol is a slightly better "Touge" car (mountain driving)...

now this is a pretty nice video about Driftking. he pays respect and tribute to his mentor. see, normally DK is actually known to be pretty cocky as he pretty much single handily promote the sport of drifting to the entire world. he is known to not to give a damn about anyone...

you don't think DK is a good driver? think again. he won LeMans in NSX in 1995. he was also one of the driver for one of the best sports prototype car ever built, the Toyota GT-One, which is SO CLOSE to winning LeMans... it got 2nd place in 1999. unfortunately the next year the rules were revised and we never got to see the full potential of GT-One...

Dung Pile really likes the non-racing events, like Drifting and Time Attack, and stays busy at it so that he doesn't EVER have time to do what he really knows he can't do...RACING! Then he "honors" the losers who invent things like drifting because they can't race worth a Dung Pile either!

Didn't you say in another thread that your car wasn't that great and had to be upgraded so you would stop being an "also ran"

Methinks thou art a circular argument wrapped in a rhetorical question surrounded by an untestable hypothesis.

Then why do you have to make excuses for finishing no better than 4th in a sparsely attended Time Attack?

GhettoRacist69, the only person I know who would brag about this award (and in Pink too):

The ratings given by DriftKing in Touge Showdown type of events has nothing to do with the actual performance of the car. Tt does to some extent, but the key word is balance of the car.

All the formal entries in American Touge 3 will beat del Sol in lap times for many reasons, such as:

- MUCH better power to weight ratio, all the cars not only have much larger displacement engines, but all are either superchaged or turbocharged.
- all of them are from well established "tuners". where I was just a small privateer car...

As for time attack results, run your 968 there and see what you can do. Then maybe we'll talk. Time Attack rules are almost unlimited. The classing is mainly by drivetrain configuration, and other than tire wear limitation, modification is very open. For this reason, you will see only better Time Attack cars as more and more tuners get involved. For street class, the CRX that won is about 2100 w/driver, 200 whp. 2 liter NA engine, 6 spd close ratio gear box. My delsol is 2400 w/driver, 188 whp, 1.6 NA engine (not as good of torque curve), 5 speed with semi-close ratio gear box. He was on better tires Aznenis vs. me in Toyo T1R...

POC just had their event @ California Speedway in field this very weekend. It'll be interesting to see what kind of lap times they get. I'll be looking out for the results.

And people wonder why it doesn't get much respect.

Winners have the ubercar and the losers have excuses. Thanks but no. Call me when they get some rules to make the cars even.

So then it doesn't really mean anything, does it?

Why would I do that? I already have a full schedule of W2W races this year. Each of them give me an opportunity to run against the clock. Its called qualifying. Running against the clock doesn't appeal to me unless I get to race afterward.
