Nice.

I know this has been brought up before, but is it fair to say that the Pirelli DH is about equal to or just a bit faster than an R6? Seems it can't be much faster than that because otherwise our stock GT4s with Cup2s or RE71Rs (Joe/Potter) wouldn't be so close to pros on Pirelli DHs.

Isn't your car a bit closer in spec to a CS than a street gt4? Just to be fair...

This brings up a good question about the advantages of a CS over the street GT4. These are my assumptions, but it's certainly no gospel and open to debate:

1). 120# weight advantage: worth a few tenths?
2). PDK and gearing: a few tenths?
3). Tires: 2 seconds, maybe a bit more depending on the track?

Anything else?

its a three way comparison: MR vs CS vs plain GT4

I think the MR has a much bigger wing which produces extra drag so that slows you down on straights but provides downforce in highspeed corners. I think it also has suspension, tire and other differences

I think the MR is slower than the CS.

at Daytona I was running a 2:04 and a CS MR was running1:58
I think the driver counted for 2-3 seconds of that and the car for the rest

at NJMP a CS ran in the 1:26 range and a gt4 (not me) ran in the 1:29

Its actually called the GT4 Clubsport MR. Its the newest spec for racing (hence why there are all of these first gen clubsports for sale). The upgrades were done by Manthey Racing

The good news... I got a great lap time at Barber to start the 2017 season. 1.4286 according to Harry's.

The bad news, I blew 3rd gear two sessions later.

On RE71s, roll bar, all stock.

Took my GT4 today for testing as completely stock car at MSR Cresson, TX to get a baseline before we make any changes to it. We removed the front aero ducts and set front bar full soft and rear bar full hard. Tires are OEM Dunlop's, cold pressures at 26 and hot pressures at 34.

Temperature was 76 degrees today and nice. Alignment is stock, unchanged.

I ran a best 1:22.97 at MSR Cresson on the 1.7 CCW.

I did not obtain video as this was just a shakedown run of the car prior to making changes.

I have to say - what a fabulous car!

- Chris.

Nice Video Geo!

I felt bad watching that Corvette. I ran a 550hp Jag F-type R this weekend. Turn in is great, straight is no problem, but the GT4 eats its lunch braking and mid turn just like that vet in your video. First place again, this time Barber. Congrats! Sorry to hear about you losing 3rd gear.
