Default Forgeline GA1R with Track alignment

Well, finally have a clean car so I'm not embarrassed to show how things turned out with the alignment and track wheels.

These are Forgeline GA1R with open lugs (center machined out to save 0.5lb per wheel). These are track wheels, so I didn't bother with a center cap.

19 x 11 ET45
19 x 9 ET48

Each front is about 2lbs lighter than OEM (wow OEMs are really light!)
Each rear is about 3lbs lighter than OEM

I'm trying out a hoosier R7 265/35/R19 and 295/30R19 setup.

Each front wheel & tire is 2lbs lighter than OEM 20"
Each rear wheel & tire is 7lbs lighter than OEM 20"

Give me 18lb rotational mass savings - not too bad. Still amazed at how light the OEM wheels are.

Alignment Front:
-5mm ride height to offset 265 size
-3 Degrees Camber
9.3 Caster
1mm total toe out
Wheel is perfectly centered in wheel well

Alignment Rear:
-2.5 Camber
4mm total toe in

We used shims with thrust-arm bushings to get this, and I'd guess the track is about 0.75"-1" wider F/R.

Great post. I thank you,

First, the setup looks fantastic. tire sizes aside.. spot on.

Any concerns with the fronts rubbing? that extra tire and width really pushes it out..

Solid setup man.. looks great!

Man that's an aggressive setup. For the street the tires stick out too far IMO but at the track it should be pretty awesome. One suggestion is to do something to protect the body work from rubber and debris being kicked up, especially behind the fronts.

Any concerns about that small clearance between the wheel and toe arm?

Very interested to hear your feedback on the car with those alignment specs.

Looks great, I have the same wheels coming in a Titanium finish for my Sapphire Blue GT4 that is currently somewhere in the Atlantic on its way. Forge line makes great wheels even have a set on my Cayenne Diesel

I do have a tiny concern that there could be tire-fender-edge rubbing under extreme g-loads to be honest, the shims pushed the wheels out. I would have preferred to have been able to get more adjustment from the OEM strut mounts. There is still a lot of gap, so I'm very optimistic I won't have any trouble on the track.

There is enough clearance between the wheel and the rear toe arm that unless the wheel fails, I doubt they will ever touch. I could not run an offset that brings the edge any closer though.

I had two sets for my RS, they proved to be very strong compared to wheels I've had in the past.

I've had the car on track twice now with full aero and sway at F-Medium, R-Stiff, on Cup2s. The first outing at COTA was a ton of fun. I didn't experience a diabolical push, any understeer was easy to cope with and I walked away wondering what all the fuss was about. The next outing at TWS, it was horrible. It pushed so badly, I was missing apexes everywhere and the car stopped being fun. I ended up destroying the front tires, tread was coming off in chunks. As I have stated before, it's as if someone from the GT3 program drove the GT4, and then walked over and asked the chassis engineer to f!@k it up. Conspiracy theory aside, I have no doubt this new setup will be light years better and I can't wait to try it.

+1

I'd also be concerned about stuff being thrown into the side intakes.
