PM'd OP with details.

Would the owners of the database mind if I had a copy of the report folded up in my back pocket just in case the opportunity presented itself to break it out in polite conversation?
I don't want to use someone else's work without their permission.
Thanks,
Bret

I'm local in Atlanta. They can break open my transmission and take a look anytime. Taking it into the dealer this week but expecting a long wait.

Some people don't understand. Dealers HAVE to follow procedures,ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO WARRANTY! It is sometimes a ridiculous process, where the technician needs to fill out tons of BS and follow ridiculous tests(in some cases) in order to get warranty repair approved. Nobody is going to risk their job by doing things differently. We're talking money $$$$$ here when we refer to a whole transmission. They have to send the whole transmission back to PAG(unopened). If the dealer opens it they will know, trust me.
I highly suspect the turnaround is so long because Aisin is working on a fix.

Was also posted earlier in the thread or the GT4 Gearbox Failure thread, that a RL member heard about a PCNA contact that said a fix had been identified.

If the database eliminated the names and just used the last four numbers of the Vin plus the production date that may be a better format to submit to Porsche . Who knows what they're really aware of? It would be nice to get an explanation of why all of a sudden after over a year of production it seems to be a chronic failure. That seems to be concentrated from March to June 2016. They may be able to narrow it to a specific number of vins . The 996 GT3 had a valve spring problem that they identified on 20 cars So they can really narrow it down if they want to. Carl
