GT4 G81 Transmission Failure
#242
That's a case of salt in the wound. At least it's not the summer. Hope they turn this around and compensate you. Still find it odd that these transmissions are not available. When my '11' C2S PDK died at 1000 mi. I had a new one in 3 days.

Is this a failure that has not been posted here on RL before?
Any details on the car like miles, amount of track use if any, use of slicks or street tires, etc?
Just trying to keep a count of unique identified failures.
Thanks

On that damaged transit I believe you get prioritized actually. AND on this new failure info would be great. Porsche has been handling this well it seems with loaner vehicle. Hopefully they extend warranty ..

Was your friend's problem a total 3rd gear failure like the others posted here?

Kyrocks had a gearbox failure that was replaced under warranty. The 3rd gear did not fail, there were strange noises coming from the gearbox and when oil was drained, bits and pieces of metal came out. He described this in posts here on RL.

If you're referring to Kyrocks' gearbox replacement, I believe he reported on this thread that it began making noise early in the life of the gearbox, wasn't a sudden change or failure, but I'm sure he can chime in with the specifics.
