UMC - 2:03.689 - 6 May 2018 - Pirelli DH P-Zero slicks - Mono-ball
This is on the 3 mile outer loop of Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC). My fastest lap of the weekend was during the Sunday morning warmup. I kept having bad starts, and during the races always got stuck behind faster cars being driven slower, which made it difficult to pass. My lap times were pretty close to the fastest of the Clubsports that were competing in Pirelli Cup West, so I'm very happy with myself, especially considering this was my first time to UMC.

24chromium, do you have a video of your UMC lap? You are so much faster than the group I drive with that I'm dying to see how you did it. That's just amazing! Mods and tires can't be all of it, but I'd be interested to know what you've done to your car in terms of setup, too.

Thanks! Hmm. My lines are much the same, except I don't bomb the curbs in the Attitudes quite like he does and he does a much better job of windup + release on to the front straight. I've definitely got a ton more to learn. But I still can't figure out how he can apex 1 at 75 or 4 at 105. Must be some deep magic going on with the tires and geometry.

I was actually faster through T1 on some laps than Sean's best. However, it was all downhill from there! He's pro-level and this year he is racing a 991 Cup in Pirelli Cup West.
Going fast is a lot about confidence. In yourself and in the car. You should strive to drive each and every corner as fast as possible, right up to the point where you think you're going to loose it. Every time, lap after lap. That's how it's done!
I've now edited my prior post to include my video of the fast laps in the Sunday morning warm-up.

Took my GT4 to a new track for the board.... Roebling Road Raceway near Savannah, GA. A flat, tight track that is a throwback to the 60's. Been there just once before in my Audi S4.
Best lap of the day was early in the morning...and with a passenger! After that tires and track got so hot. GT4 should be able to do a sub 1:15 there with more seat time, the right temps and tires.
4k video with some great exhaust sounds.... not the same lap, but close.

Thanks! Winter days in California helped, and having a car that doesn't break every week haha. Can't wait for some more sessions with the CS on track.

Mid-Ohio Club Config - 1:36.78 - 29 May 2018 - Pirelli slicks - Mono-ball Suspension
This was my very first time running at Mid-Ohio. We were running the ‘Club’ configuration (chicane prior to the keyhole). I was on _very_ worn tires for the entire 2 day event and it was hot, hot, hot. Lots of time left on the table, but respectable (I hope) for a first timer.

That's the configuration I did with the chicane before the keyhole ...(wondering if JLC59's lap was just straightaway to the keyhole?)...
stock except alignment and badly worn RE-71's 1:38....
Love the part of the course between China Beach, Madness and Thunder Valley---constant turning and big elevation changes in such a short distance!

It was worth the drive. Now on to the Glen!
