Best Track Times in a GT4

Well, I didn't quite catch Chris this past weekend at Summit Point, but I did get a new personal best: 1:20.44, only .09 seconds behind him. I didn't remember to hook up my phone to record until Sunday, so I don't have any times for the Saturday runs, which might have been better.
I'll get him next time!
Car is the same setup as last time: 19" Forgeline wheels, RE-71R tires, DSC box, alignment and max stock aero.

Running OZ Leggera's 8.5 & 11 19". I was hesitant at first to run the 255 on an 8.5 but was assured by a good friend that the 255 P Zero slick is a pretty narrow 255. He's right, the fronts are very well supported (wheels knock pavement when placed on their backside). I've had great luck with John Berget Racing, he buys take-offs from many many series. My last set, lasted 26 HC's and gripped till they corded. The tires are amazing, elastic friction circle, and very communicative. All for $120 per tire.

Having compared the GT4 and GT3 back to back on track, I do think the GT4 needs some alignment, etc. to extract it's potential on track. In stock form, I find the GT4 a bit 'lazy' in the sense of being slow to the tell the driver what it's doing, and then slow to react to inputs. The GT3 seems a lot more buttoned down to me.

+1 on John Berget .
And yes the Pirelli DH slicks are fantastic, predictable, and long lasting.

Hey Myles, nice meeting you too. That was fun, chasing each other. Hopefully I'll see you out there again soon. I'm pretty sure I had some sub-20's on Saturday as well, but forgot to hook up the phone, so no proof (oh well....).

Former Vendor
AutoQuest Motorsport (driver/owner Gavin Riches) has been busy at Road America and Sebring over the last year testing and tuning our MultiLink Rear Suspension and some other AQM goodies for the GT4. Here are two of Gavin's impressive lap times, and we expect to knock off another nice chunk of time with our upcoming Shorter Final Drive Ratio.

Got a clear track for a while before it got too hot and got a couple of personal bests, 1:53.21 was the fastest. Moved the wing and removed the inserts for max aero this time, and also changed the rear sway from full stiff to medium. Seemed to keep the back end settled down when doing that quick braking before bending into turn one. Felt much better, was able to keep much higher speeds through there.
Tires are RE-71s, now completely shot but they had a good life ;-)

Well done!!! That's awesome driving!!! Competition heats up!!! Let's all try to make the next Summit weekend. Would be great to all meet (and me selfishly learn more). Chris was at Summit couple weekends ago with Chin. Not sure if he achieved a new PB on Sunday - I only did Saturday which he did a 1:21 with an extra 180lbs riding shotgun
As far as the CHIN event - I blew 3rd gear on Sunday's 1st session. Not sure when transmission replacement will complete, but I would like to do one more Summit event before the season ends.
I agree with Bill/Myles - 1:19 is definitely doable in the GT4 at Summit - some fresh tires, clear track and cool but sunny weather - and it's gonna happen. (Hopefully in 2017 if I can get the tranny replaced quick enough).
Also Bill/Myles/Tony/all - you guys PM me if you are doing VIR or Summit so we can do some follow the leader.
