I've been chipping away at my times here since picking up my GT4 last summer. I set a goal for the day to cut about 1sec from my last time out and and run some consistent 1:29s. Mission accomplished. 1:28's here I come!

Nice lap. You were in the Chalk 718 GT4, right?

Car sounds great, the 4L has bit more depth to the engine note. I like it.

I would suggest try downshifting to second gear in turn 5 and also turn 9. Also once you see the apex leaving 10 into 11 you can be flat on the gas in second and third and fourth going into 12. Very brief lift just before the bridge and you should be able to be back full on the gas just before the apex in 12. You should have 1:28 easily at that point and I think 1:27 is doable.

You're doing 113 at track out after the bridge and 141 or so at the end of the front straight. Last video I can find for me was 115 track out and 138 at the end of the straight. The 718 definitely pulls well since you are up about 5 mph over my car. And we had a bit of a headwind on Monday.

Thanks. Yep, I was in the Chalk GT4. Were you in the white 981GT4?

Some good suggestions, I'll give them a try. I think you're spot on where my opportunity lies. Leaving 5 dropping to second should give me a few mph down the straight to 6. Also 9-12 is where it's all at. Didn't think about dropping to second but should help a ton as I'm down to about 50ish MPH leaving 10 heading to 11. I'd love to hold more speed through 12, but despite all my laps I still lift more than I need to. I think carrying more speed from the exit of 10 will let me carry more speed through 12 even if I lift more than I should. Agree 1:28's should be in reach and with a really good lap 1:27's are possible.

Maybe I'll see you out there some time, would be nice to run together. Been chasing your lap times for a while now!

many aero differences accounting for that delta down the straight? Seems massive tbh. I don’t think the power is different enough for that big a delta. Tires? I’m still miles from you guys. Only 2nd track event ever last November I was in mid 32s. No mods. -1.3 camber all around for me.

Yep, that was me. No stickers/decals/wrap. My best recorded time on TB is 1:29.86 from awhile ago before I switched to mostly running my Radical. I run with all nannies on and am an early braker. My lines are generally good but my braking points should be later.

I have no aero mods. Rear wing is set to max downforce. If yours is stock, that's about 1-2 MPH diff. You're also running full bore exhaust, right? I am back to full stock exhaust. That is worth some HP on the top end which is what you're using on the front straight.

I’m running full stock exhaust. Full stock everything for me. I’ll be back at some point to njmp hopefully sometime later this year. See if I can get anywhere near you guys. Watkins Glen next weekend. 🥳

Ha, we can always brake later until we can't. Agree'd there is time there under braking but not worth it to me. Time at Thunderbolt is all about 7-12 and really 9-12. I spent a ton of time analyzing my data in Race Studio. If you can get through 9, leave 10 with speed, and don't lift much through 12 that's a second there and 5+mph entering braking zone at 1.

Unrelated I'm going to demo the SR3 and SR10 at Lightening at the end of the month. Can't wait.

Not my best ever, but without traffic would have hoped for another second or so.

NCM is such a fun track.. Car sounds great, and you definitely would have picked up a second or two without the traffic.. Haven't had the GT4 up there yet,, but will be going to Time Trial Nationals in June. Can't wait.

Couple videos from this season:

NCM Grand Full:

First time at the track, was cutting 1-3 seconds per session over the weekend, easily another 1-2 seconds left on the table. 2:19.16

Gingerman Raceway:

Home track, very sloppy lines while fighting new alignment understeer issues, yellow flag at the last turn. 1:39.51

Car has CMS roll bar, harnesses, Girodisc PCCB-iron conversion, Ferodo DS1.11 pads, Tarett camber plates, TPC toe links, BMC filters, and N1 Cup2's.

Dude, anything sub :20 is a hustle at NCM, especially for your first time. Well done. And yes, you've got several seconds more in turns 5 and 16 alone. Braking point for 16 is just before that little patch of dirt on the right, and then it's full throttle to 17. 5 too. So much track there, but definitely takes some gumption.

Don't forget 2-4, and you can pick up quite a bit of time through there. Get rid of the maintenance throttle in 1 and 2, and be more aggressive on the curbing in 2, 3, and 4. Lot's of time there
