If 2016 GT4 falls through, which car?
Despite being on 3 dealer lists for a GT4 for 15 months, I still don't have an allocation. I'm told I "have" the last allocation expected at one dealer, but that they have not yet received it. They assure me that the allocation will arrive "real soon now." I'm suspicious that smoke is being blown. I should know soon.
That said, I have been considering what to purchase if the GT4 falls through. Intended use is light track, weekends, daily driver in the sunlight. (The same role filled by the 993 currently, but she keeps ageing)
It seems more and more certain that there will be a next GT4, perhaps as early as this year. Maybe with a bigger engine and the new body style. That certainly is an appealing choice and I've got all those places on the lists.
New GT3's and 911Rs are unobtanium. I'm not in love with spending what old GT3's cost on a car which may have been (ok, surely has been) thrashed.
I like the 911 GTS, lots of them still around.
I looked at the AMG GTS...holy **** that is an engine, but they need to cut 3 feet off the front end of that thing and I don't know about the track.
Thoughts, random speculation. What would you purchase?

I would skip the AMG GTS... But a 991 GTS or a slightly used GT4 also seems like a great idea.
