I'm not sure why DT40 isn't Porsche approved when you see how many obscure brands are but I'll stick with one that is while the car is under warranty.

DT40 isn't API certified, so that is at least one reason why it isn't Porsche certified. But after I spent a good chunk of time doing some research, not being API certified isn't necessarily a bad thing, and can in fact be a good thing depending on your perspective and your goals. There are enough things I learned about DT40 that I'm going to use it in my long term "experiments" in my BS and GT4.

I understand and appreciate your concerns about new car warranty.

Who is Jake Raby?

Edit: Nevermind, Google search found him. I've only been around p-cars for a little over a year.

Oh well, I thought I had figured it out, but maybe your GT4 is sitting too high?
Update: Took the car in to my favorite Porsche dealer today to check the ride height and get the state inspection so I can get registration and plates Monday.

Ride height check results:
Front spec: 109 mm (+2/-0) Front actual: 120 mm
Rear spec: 130 mm (+2/-0) Rear actual: 135 mm

Summary: Front is 11 mm above target, rear is 5 mm above target, both are out of tolerance.

Plan: The dealer is checking with Porsche to make sure the spec and WSM method is correct. If the ride height is high, as it appears it is, they will do a ride height adjustment, corner balance, and wheel alignment under warranty. Changing the ride height leads to corner balance and alignment. I will have to drop the car off for at least a full day.

Stay tuned to this bat channel for updates....

Had nice wet-damp-dry run sessions at Hallett this weekend. Nice meeting some RL'ers there as well.

It was pretty tricky! I think going to PEC ATL last month and doing the wet skid pad and kick plate really helped to prepare me for these conditions. The back end slipped out on me several times on throttle especially at turn 10 but I was able to catch and save it. I also kept off the kerbs/gators. There were several spins in the novice groups. I took it pretty easy but in the damp you get overconfident and I almost lost it powering out of a corner but saved it again When the track gets dry it's awesome being able to predict the balance changes the car goes through and finally rip off some consistent laps.

…and then we had a picnic.
